Yes boys, a SWIMSUIT GIRL!!

I was bored not wanting to do research and papers(what art major DOES?LOL) and so I tested out inking with a small micron pen and brush.

Girl rendered with pen and prismacolor marker. As brought up by BoB, Exo, and I in Exo's thread we were trying to figure out how to retain the griminess of the pencils yet solidified with pen.

So the girl on the beach thing is with a sakura pigment like pen with thin fine point. seeminfgly NOT pen traced over pencil which I used to do and ends up being boring.

The other sketches like the face and lower section bathing suit of a woman surrounding the girl are just sketches i did with ink using brush. Inking is BEST with brush I find, depending on what u want.

For real fine line skethciness, use fine tip pin but for lots of shadows and lines, use brush!!

Helps if you know how to paint as well.

Enjoy!

Ah, this brings back de memories... Color markers and ink pens are very interesting medias to play with. You should try the wedge-headed Berol pens for inking. They can give you thick and thin lines, simply by your turning and twisting of the pen. You should also be bold and generous when applying the color markers. I know it's expensive, but the result and your gradual improvement will be well worth it. I see you like watercoloring as well... color markers kinda work like watercolors - only less messy and the alchohol-based inks smells nice... man, I miss dose schmells, mmm! Hope my old markers are not dried up yet. :D

Hope to see more man. Keep it up! B))

oh with the markers, this time around I was trying to get a gradiated skin tone effect. learned this in that how to draw manga special edition book.(note to all would be buyers AVOICD chris hart's boooks! He cannot do manga right!! Only get the how to draw manga translated books!!)*

Alcohol based prismacolors RULE! I need more colors though. My color palette in my artbox is lacking important colors. I did not realize it till this year.

I will be experimenting a LOT with watercolor and watered down acrylics, and showing you all!!And acrylics as well. Like solid acrylics ALONG with some digital colors here and there and digital painting.

Thanks for the comments BoB this is SURELY not the last girl I will post!!

SHIN AINT DONE YET!..hmm never tried berol pens. used to crow quill, pigment micron fineline, and now BRUSH. Brush rules!!!!

*PS to all would be inkers, brush does WONDERS yes but it helps if you know how to paint as well....helps IMMENSELY!!*
