"facing ANOTHER arrest" what was the previous time? cmon share!!!! Quote
Kin Posted April 22, 2005 Author Posted April 22, 2005 (edited) ... possesing airsoft. It's illegal in here. 6 undercover cops entered my appartement with a searchwarrant. I had to spend 6 hours at the police station. Although I had to say goodbye to my collection, I'm glad I didn't have to go to court or pay some big fine. Edited April 22, 2005 by Kin Quote
Solscud007 Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 (edited) wow sucks to be you. I love airsoft. Where do you live? Canada? I know its illegal there. Did your guns have the hideous orange tips? How did they know you had it? Did you show it around or soemthing? You should have jsut kept them as real firearms and taken them to a shooting range or something. I did once and it was funny. You get all these weird looks from the other shooters, when you whip out a Knights Armament SR-16 moderatley decked out and start going at it full auto hehe. (I asked permission first from the range if i could bring in a bb gun) I bet the cops kept the guns for themselves. Edited April 22, 2005 by Solscud007 Quote
Axelay Posted April 22, 2005 Posted April 22, 2005 Kin, I am tremendously impressed. Your talent is truly amazing! I wish you continued success with the Legioss, and look forward to seeing it once it is completed. Quote
Kin Posted April 23, 2005 Author Posted April 23, 2005 oke.. using previous experience with papermodeling (argh...) I've decided to rebuild the whole thing to reduce the complexity. Quite busy right now.. Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted April 23, 2005 Posted April 23, 2005 I can't seem to access the site with the papercraft pulse rifle, but I could before. Strange, the site seems to be down. Quote
Kin Posted April 23, 2005 Author Posted April 23, 2005 (edited) I can't seem to access the site with the papercraft pulse rifle, but I could before. Strange, the site seems to be down. Are you sure? Here's the link to the page. You can download the rar file at the pulserifle section. Check out this site! Simply awesome! I currently figured out a reliable and solid paper joint for rotating the legioss his legs. I'm still figuring out the best way to collapse his upper leg section into the lower section. hellohikaru Posted April 24, 2005 Posted April 24, 2005 Kin I am very impressed with your paper legioss. I don't mind even if it doesn't tranform so long i get to build every variant in armo fighter and diver modes. Can't wait for this. Quote
Kin Posted April 24, 2005 Author Posted April 24, 2005 oke a little update, I figured out an easy way to transform the legs. The upperpart of the leg doesn't go inside the lowerpart in fighter mode, but instead it goes into the chest area(intake/engine). Quote
1/1 LowViz Lurker Posted April 25, 2005 Posted April 25, 2005 (edited) Thanks kin. I actually sucessfully visited and bookmarked it earlier, went back to it later, but at the time of returning to it, it wasn't working for me. But now it is. *shrugs shoulders* Good luck with this legioss. It will probably be more sturdy than a toynami. Edited April 25, 2005 by 1/1 LowViz Lurker Quote
Kin Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 (edited) ok... finished the most complicated part... the legs. Edited April 30, 2005 by Kin Quote
Kin Posted April 30, 2005 Author Posted April 30, 2005 using the same parts to test soldier and fighter mode. Soldier tends to be like a Gakken, but at least those legs are much taller. Quote
Kin Posted May 2, 2005 Author Posted May 2, 2005 ok this time I fixed the model to look good both in soldier and fightermode using the same parts. next step... make a papermodel test. Quote
hellohikaru Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Kin Are you going to make the canopy round and clear ? I remembered your older version having a rounder canopy. Quote
Kin Posted May 4, 2005 Author Posted May 4, 2005 Yes I will eventually make everything much smoother till I figured out if all joints and moving things pass the test of stirdyness. Quote
Kin Posted May 7, 2005 Author Posted May 7, 2005 (edited) I've decided to to model the wings which can be foldable. Don't get into a shock if you see those big flaps. Actually the lines you see are the foldable area's. The real flaps are ofcourse much smaller and the lines representing it will be drawn eventually. The purpose to fold the flaps is to maintain the proportion of the wings. You still get that wing shape in soldier mode and hiding those flaps will leave more space. Edited May 7, 2005 by Kin Quote
Kin Posted May 8, 2005 Author Posted May 8, 2005 (edited) OK now I'm busy converting with pepakura. Correcting some flaps and areas. The leg, arm, wing and chest will be mirror duplicated afterwards. The first 4X A4 size documents represents the whole leg including the foldable parts to transform. It's going to be huge and much more easier to work with. Edited May 8, 2005 by Kin Quote
Kin Posted May 9, 2005 Author Posted May 9, 2005 (edited) ok... I have done all the needed corrections, flaps and helplines for the joints and foldable areas. The last thing I still have to do is figuring out a good technique to move the arms during transformation. b.t.w. the test version is going to be 15.8 inches in length and has a wingspan of 10.8 inches. If tested succesfully, I can start building special modules on monthly basis for each component such as detailed cockpit, missile hatches, HBT, Mospeada, landing gear... etc. These modules are easy to replace. salsaking Posted May 9, 2005 Posted May 9, 2005 Looking good. Can't wait to build one of those... Quote
Kin Posted May 10, 2005 Author Posted May 10, 2005 (edited) I've printed out the test sheets. I'm going to use my scissors and glue in the weekend. PDF FILE Edited May 10, 2005 by Kin Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted May 10, 2005 Posted May 10, 2005 sweet!! so this is done? Does it come with instructions? Quote
Kin Posted May 10, 2005 Author Posted May 10, 2005 (edited) Well... you have to wait till I tested everything to be OK and draw/fill texture every part... that's a hell lot of work. But once it's finished... Edited May 10, 2005 by Kin Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted May 11, 2005 Posted May 11, 2005 Well... you have to wait till I tested everything to be OK and draw/fill texture every part... that's a hell lot of work. But once it's finished... oh ok, you'll let us know when you'll have the final to download with instructions, right? Thanx man, you da greatest! Damn good job too!! Quote
Kin Posted May 19, 2005 Author Posted May 19, 2005 damn it's hard work.... but! I found a better way to use pepakura. Building the model in lightwave, export and import it in 3d max and texturing. Export to pepakura and voila! I'm currently on hold now with the legioss project, otherwise I'm getting sick of it. I'm starting to build a testmodel ...pssssttt...(Colt m4 commando 1:1 highres textures) don't walk with that outside! Stay tuned! Quote
Kin Posted May 21, 2005 Author Posted May 21, 2005 Muhahahah! 2 more parts to go and it's finished! Quote
promethuem5 Posted May 21, 2005 Posted May 21, 2005 That's gonna be touch to make with all those round pieces.... sure looks nice. Quote
Kin Posted May 21, 2005 Author Posted May 21, 2005 (edited) I'm almost there... 2 more sheets to go! Those rounded parts are quite easy cause paper will give a little way to bend/modify. Edited May 21, 2005 by Kin Quote
Kin Posted May 22, 2005 Author Posted May 22, 2005 (edited) front view, im gonna paint those white lines with a black marker. Edited May 22, 2005 by Kin Quote
