areaseven
At AX2004, guests have a sneak peek at Geneon Entertainment's upcoming release Submarine 707R, based on the manga by Satoru Ozawa (Blue Submarine No. 6). The OAV series, directed by Shoichi Masuo (who has worked on Gunbuster and Vandread), features character designs by Minoru Murao (Last Exile) and Jun Takagi (Condor Hero), mechanical designs by the legendary Kazutaka Miyatake (Macross, Gunbuster) and a screenplay by Hiroshi Ohnogi (Macross Zero, RahXephon). In addition, the opening sequence is directed by Hideaki Anno (Gunbuster, Neon Genesis Evangelion). JELEINEN
Looks interesting. The submarine show I really want to see more of is that Matsumoto one (name escapes me at the moment).
CF18
Oh yeah. It's quite strange that I have yet to find any fansub of it in any language. I am glad it did not fall throught the crack somehow.
uminoken
I've seen (not watched) a H/K boot of 707R, looked pretty good, hope somebody picks it up, esp. seeing as it's an OVA. Matsumoto's Sub 99 looks like a retread of his space operas, but underwater, but it's got subs, so I'll still watch (aniemsuki.com has ep 1 for fansub torrent) On a side note: does anyone know anything about the mangas that 707R and Blue Sub are based on? wolfx
Its strange that nobody heard of this before when I asked about it in fansub message boards. No one seems to want to fansub it either when it 1st came out around december last year. Ah well. It looks cool. And the soundtrack sounds awesome.
