So wait...um... Chloe's dead?

At the end of the season finale, Chloe and her father were blown up in a FBI safe house. Lionel Luthor might have paid somebody off. Now at a WB promotion party, Tom Welling revealed that only "Pete" won't be a regular on the show.

nooooo....they killed Chloe....shes the only one I think is really good looking on the show....Pete just doesnt do it for me :p

I don't think they'll kill her off. Besides, Lois Lane is investigating it.

Well at least this FINALLY puts the Lois is really Cloe rumors.. kinda like the Janet and Michael rumors from a few years ago

People were saying that Cloe was eventually going to be made as Lois Lane in 'Ville but now that doesnt seem to be the case.. Cloe has already stated that Lois was her Cousin in 'Ville but we all that that was a Crock but now it seems to be true

to appear on the first four episodes of the new season. Lois will investigate Chloe's death.

I got the feeling that maybe the bomb blast was the FBI's way to take Chloe into hiding. They went into the house, went into some safe room as the rest of the house blew up. Everyone thinks they are dead so the FBI can take them somewhere safe without people knowing.

Lois could still show up since the rest of the world thinks Chloe's dead.

Huh?? Lois IS showing up thats the whole point of this thread. That and also to remove any rumors that Lois and Cloe are one and the same

I can't wait to see the first meeting between Lois & Clark. Now all they gotta do is bring in Bruce Wayne and it's all gravy. The producers always planned to bring the young Batman but the with the new movie it's unlikely.

I love Terri but she's too old. Hey, how about Mutant X's Karen Cliche

hmmm, no... doesn't do it for me.

If lois is going to show up investigating the murder... does this mean lois is older than clark?

Lois is supposed to be in her early twenties.

Smallville executive producer Alfred Gough pretty much said it would prove impossible to introduce Bruce Wayne due to the making of Batman Begins. However, he would like to see the character used in the show. Details can be found at ComicsContinuum.com coverage of the San Diego Comic-con Smallville 2003 panel.

From the very start (as when Superman debuted in 1938), I would perceive that Lois may not necessarily be older, but she has a little more journalistic experiece and has always proved more aggressive at investigating than Clark Kent/Superman. The following links explain Lois's background and may shed some light on how the Smallville writers might interpret the character.

Lois Lane (pre-crisis or the version from 1938 to 1986)

Lois Lane (post-crisis or current version in the comics)

Relationship History of Lois and Clark Kent/Superman

It will prove interesting to see if the Smallville writers will create the romantic rivalry between Lois and Lana for Clark that has been evident in the comic books.

I think that the producers are doing something similar to the X-Men movies. In the movie Jean Grey is older than Scott Summers. In the comics that's not true. It's chic to depict a relationship with a older woman and younger man ala Demi Moore & Ashton Kutcher.

Here's some hope for us Superman fans. WB plans a 2004 production start for the new movie. Also, Mc G is still directing and has screen tested six actors. Go to this link: supernews

It's gonna be hard to cast Lois. I mean, were talking about the woman that made Clark forget about Lana. And they got one hot Lana on that show...

I think it's too early to intro Lois, IMHO. Let Lana have the spotlight for a bit more. Lois shouldn't be around until Clark settles on a journalism career and meets lois at some news meet and greet, at the earliest.

if they do have lois, they probably won't have clark actually meeting/interacting with lois... since it's pretty much superman canon that superman falls in love with lois when he saves her from falling (something that flies in the air)... me thinks.

That's what bugs me about the TV show, all the main characters are introduced way too early. Though they're doing a good job writing stories.

Canon doesn't really matter much as far as Superman, or comic books in general. The new JJ Abrams movie script is about how Krypton doesnt blow up. um... yeah...

Jor El: Sorry hunny, looks like I just shot our son across the galaxy for no good reason... hehehe...

I don't know.. they've kept that intro to clark and lois now in all of his comic relaunches, in the old lois and clark show and even in the latest superman: rebirth comic series... I thin the smallville writters know they have some play but they've been pretty good about keeping the big stuff in line... like lana and clark never getting together, clark and luthor being friends early on, stuff like that.

I'm wondering...was Lana in the classic Superman/Superboy comics, or was she only introduced post-1986?

Lana's first appearance was in Superboy Comics, 1959. She looks good for being 45 yrs old...

shes smokin alright....too bad he can't act worth a damn.

i think she and keanu should do a movie together and that way she could go into porn and keanu could just leave.

i really can't see how they could get someone hotter than Kristen Kreuk to do the show? don't get me wrong, theres quite a few hotties out there but that KK makes me_____in my pants everytime i see her.

Thanks. The website linked earlier in this thread gave a good summary of her story in the modern Superman, but there wasn't anything about her "classic" persona/story. What was her original relationship to Clark/Superboy...and how did they explain the transition to Lois as his gal pal? Again, talking pre-1986. If you can give a link, that would also be great.

I must say that for being a very goofy show, Smallville is great fun. Both my wife and I think Lex is the coolest character. And I have to give credit to John Glover for adding Lionel Luther to a long string of delightful villains he's played.

Edit: props also to whoever cast Terrance Stamp as Jor-El's voice.
