baronv Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 Can you fellow MWer's let me know if this is an easy job, since it looks pretty simple to me. I want to purchase a Yammie Roy 1/60 VF-1S strike valk and a VF-1A Hikaru valk. Since they never made the Hikaru 1-S valk and I would like it in my collection I was thinking of just switching out the heads. It looks as if teh heads are just screwed in at the base which should make for a simple swap. Have any of you done this? I'd like to end up with putting the strike pack on the new Hikaru 1-S as well also. Quote
Graham Posted June 8, 2004 Posted June 8, 2004 As you said, switching the heads is just a case of removing one screw at the base of the neck. However, fitting the FAST Packs to the Hikaru VF-1A body will not be easy, as the first generation 1/60 VF-1A Hikaru body does not have the necessary holes on the legs, backback and arms for attaching the FAST packs. So lots of careful drilling and filing will be required. In the end, it would probably just be easier to repaint a 1/60 Focker VF-1S. Graham Quote
baronv Posted June 8, 2004 Author Posted June 8, 2004 Thanks Graham, I didn't know that the 1A lacked the nescessary FAST pack slots. Quote
