For those who own it... listen to the song "Idol Talk" from the Macross Plus OST... and tell me that isn't a sample from some kind of porn video clip or something in the background... You know... the voice over bit that goes:

"... Take a closer look... mmm.. very nice..."

For the sake of typing a family friendly post, I'll leave it up to you to listen to the rest but... well... I didn't notice it before.

Has anyone noticed the whispers in the background of Santi-U then? On the part where Sharon is chanting? I can't make out if the whispers are words or whatever... but it's there... can someone hear if it's words or just random whisper-noises? I get the feeling that the voice is telling something or something like that...

I've heard all of Sharon's songs a few million times but I only noticed this little detail last week... that CD just keeps growing on me...

I heard something on my cd.

It goes.."Can you feel my lips around your rock hard C&%K?" then goes "Mmmmm, very nice"

I thought I was imagining it, but yeah it's there.

The ACTUAL line(I listened to it several times to make absolutely sure I wasn't delusional) is "can you feel my juices around your rock hard "...

I love her work especialy in Escaflowne, and Cowboy Bebop, as for that last part in Idol Talk I don't think it came from a porno clip. I believe it was reference to Sharon Apple, being that it that character singing the song.

Well, if it wasn't a sample... I'd have to applaud the production team for doing that tiny little clip in decent English... no mangled Engrish... though that owul dhave really taken the steam out of the whispers.

Ahhh.... but the thing is... Sharon Apple was being run by Myung... so....

You really couldn't blame Guld, eh?

The Macross Plus OST 1 and 2 are available at all good anime music stores everywhere.

Or you could always order through the net. It's all over the place.

Like movie editions of Macross Plus... they never sell the OVA anymore...

Hey, let's lay off this song...I love those lyrics...and whoever said look at the clip is right...the song was written just for that. And it works perfectly with everything Sharon wants....to seduce Isamu, give him what she thinks he needs, etc. YK just happens to have a way fo making music that actually connects with the work...which is why she's soo good.

Damn you guys are just now catching this? lol.gif

Anyway the song is sung by Akino Arai one of Yoko's best friends. Akino is the one that actually says the line in question. There was an interview I read on some Akino Arai fan site where she said she was kinda reluctant to say that line(knowing exactly what it means), but because she enjoyed performaning the song as a whole and knew that yoko wanted it in there, she obliged.

I have thought Macross Plus to be many things, but I never ascribed it to be sensual in the least....Gotta' listen to the details...

Just ran across this in a Google search.  Here's some massive necroposting for you, but it looks like nobody else twigged to this, so...

Being a fan of experimental music, I got some pretty wicked deja vu listening to "Idol Talk" for the first time.  That's because the phone sex call samples in it were taken from the first album by Robin Rimbaud's project Scanner, released in 1992.  As the name implies, a scanner radio was used to pick up cell phone conversations (which was possible back in the early days of cell phones), which make up a lot of this album's content.  You can listen to (the sample source starts at 1:30 in the main track) and buy the digital reissue of the album here:  https://scanner.bandcamp.com/album/scanner-1

added one word ("source") to make it a little tidier.

Wow, so it was a sample. Listening to this is like pulling stuff from the dark web...lol.

A sample of a sample, at that!

Not that the info wasn’t nifty, or on topic, but dang, this is probably the most successful thread necromancy I’ve ever, or will ever, see.
Long live Macross, indeed!

Was there a mass Macross Plus subliminal suggestion recently?? I have been wondering the source of the "dirty talk" in this track for a LOOOOONG TIME! Just recently pulled the CD out for a nostalgia play and became curious again, so I hit the Google and was NOT disappointed! @eyevocal Damn... Thanks for this one! FINALLY... I'll get a peaceful night of sleep. lol
