Godzilla Posted September 6, 2003 Posted September 6, 2003 .. is that I bought 7 1/60 Yamato VFs. Then later to find out that that Toynami made the MC VFs. And those arent that great. So I buy 2 Ricks, 2 Bens, 2 Maxs, 1 Roy and 1 Miriya. I decided to stop buying two of everything after Ben except for Max due to QC problems. I got the fast packs for miriya, 2 max, and 1 Rick. Those aint bad. Then find out the 1/48s by Yamato comes out... I wish I found out sooner before I bought the 1/60s except for the TRU one. I mean I love the 1/48 b/c of the detail and such... I think it is a conspiracy to rob me of my money. Anyways, I liuke the low vis... I want another one. DRYL ones are fine but I am glad I did not buy the 1/60 Milla and Max VF-1J ones yet when I saw the 1/48s. If what i am reading on this board is correct, I cannot wait to get two of Max VF-1J. I hope they will super VF-1Js as well. Quote
Nightbat Posted September 6, 2003 Posted September 6, 2003 many of our members are suffering from "Pain in the wallet" Syndrome Highly contagious and impossible to irradicate it'll probably be a problem for another year with 1/60 Q-rau and Monster coming out ... and maybe some more Destroids, the missing M+, M7, valks, the M0-line, trading-figures, 1:1 Minmay, flightsuits, lunchboxes, Limited DVD-boxsets, Videogames, toiletpaper, Airsoft GU-11 Gunpod, Petit Cola vendingmachines, yada, yada oh boy,...I need to recieve my monthly financial injection thinking about it Quote

I would imagine that Yamato will indeed make the most of the changes in the 1/48 VF-1J's and you'll see a M&M release with TV FAST packs. I wouldn't be surprised if they package them with the FP's as a set - Max and Millia's FP's had colors to match their 1J's, so it wouldn't make a lot of sense to package the FAST packs seperately. joke-machine Posted September 6, 2003 Posted September 6, 2003 Its really put me off buying valks for the moment. I have a shelf full of them that I scraped and scrounged to get the money for, and for what? They just go and release valk after valk after valk in short order. I am sick of the wallet bleeding so badly for what really amounts to repaints of the same toy (VF-1). I honestly haven't bought, or even thought of buying, a valk in over 8 months. Quote
Myersjessee Posted September 6, 2003 Posted September 6, 2003 Welcome to Macross World! It is funny how these Valks that were so dear and rare to us have become more "common place" I know personally, I am still buying everything...but the luster of them is wearing off a bit...Im looking forward to fast packs and more unique things (launch arms, VT andf VE, GBP, FP's) then I would be looking forward to another VF1 with a different head or color.... We don't take kindly to that around here! j/k Anyway, I'm hoping that Yamato will eventually release all the 1/48 VF-1 varients, since I completely skipped the 1/60 line. Addicted to cool robots (macross, gundam, transformers, SOC ect.), and star wars Need cheaper hobby. *takes up stamp collecting and learns the prices people want for stamps (100,000 + at times people) and finds stamps are boring Goes back to collecting toys just as broke much happier though* Quote

No need to say that many of us dream to set in front of their VF-1 Squadron a squad of Q-Raus ready to rumble. (Max Vf-1A & Myria Q-Rau DYRL's 1st encounter on my own shelves ) My "Pain in the wallet" (i like this sentence ) will strike back again... and it will lasts as long as i can get Yamato's new drugs for my valk-addiction. JsARCLIGHT Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 The secret to maintaining a hobby: sell the stuff you don't care too much for anymore. I'm getting ready to pelt eBay with about a hundred auctions for the truckload of crap I cleaned out of my apartment this week. It's all sitting in boxes in my basement and some of it has me also wondering "why the HELL did I buy this?"... Oh well, G.I.G.O. a-go go! Quote

What happens when you start running out of stuff to sell? like me lol Ya I did what you are about to do for along time..but now I'm getting to the point where I don't have as much or valuable stuff to get the money. I'm sure I can find something, I always do. This month is a killer for me in the real world of money... Quote

JsARCLIGHT Posted September 7, 2003 Posted September 7, 2003 What happens when you start running out of stuff to sell? like me lol Then you have reached the perfect point in collecting... when you have room to get more! I'm thinking that only 50% of the junk I'm going to list will sell so most of it will end up either getting relisted or going into the trash. I have no quams about "making money" off this stuff as the good percentage of it was just taking up space here and I didn't care if I kept it or it got thrown away... you know the old garage sale addage: one man's garbage is another man's treasuse.
