close a thread instead of just deleting it

Yeah, I know it's easy to delete a thread, but closing a thread is an even better moderator-duty.

That way, members like me would know why such a thread is OT or not allowed altogether.

I think they should only leave it if other members will gain something as members by reading it... Example: Locking the "Robotech = Macross" was great. Others see that and understand that they can't go and start a thread about something that is already being discussed somewhere else.
