1st Border Red Devil Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 (edited) Well...I dont know about you guys...but Im stoked just looking at this one pic (the best of the lot in my opinion)! The full link is here at Gamespot Edited May 14, 2004 by 1st Border Red Devil Quote
the white drew carey Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Is it me, or are the wheels on that Ride Armor a little small? The graphics look flashy at first, but the proof will be the full motion gameplay. zi'm holding judgement until I see that. Quote
Cyclone Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 A little small, but I'm more worried about what happened to the "gas tank", we can see the helmet from behind...no no... But seeing it in motion, yes that's the real test. Cyc Quote
CoryHolmes Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Is it me, or are the wheels on that Ride Armor a little small? The graphics look flashy at first, but the proof will be the full motion gameplay. zi'm holding judgement until I see that. It looks small because the tires are lower down in Battloid mode than what we see in the anime and lineart. One thing I love are the little dings and paint chips I can see on that Cyclone. It makes the armour look used and with slapped-together maintanance. Just right for a game like this Quote
Phyrox Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 The Gamo/Pincer has always been one of my favorite mecha, I am glad to see this game do it justice. I just hope the gameplay is good (not just a ground-based reskinned Battlecry). Quote
the white drew carey Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 It looks small because the tires are lower down in Battloid mode than what we see in the anime and lineart. I was actually referring to the tires in motorcycle mode. If you match them up to side of his leg, it seems they'll only come a little higher then his knees. More like Scooter Armor... Quote
wolfx Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Well I hope they spruce it up for the final game. The screenshots show bad anti-aliasing and the textures look abit...uhhh....dated. Quote
Berserker Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Since when the invid has become soft The script has to be revamped.. too lame... Invid: Give up now , and I may spare your life... Scott: I give up, so plss spare my life Invid: Wrong answer, you're dead meat now...Hahaha ... Quote
justvinnie Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Well I hope they spruce it up for the final game. The screenshots show bad anti-aliasing and the textures look abit...uhhh....dated. I agree. I have no idea what you are talking about, but I do think the graphics looked dated. Too blocky. Also the way that gun is held by the guy is angled awkwardly. In the end it doesn't matter to me much because I don't play console games. vinnie Quote
Berserker Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 (edited) Do we get to pilot a Legioss in it? No word on it yet, but if they can put a legioss, it's gonna make Bandai jealous and create their own Mospeada game to compete... Edited May 14, 2004 by Berserker Quote
Anubis Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 So far doesn't look so bad. I'm more interested in the ride armor than the legoiss anyway, so no problem with me if its Mospeaeda's only. Quote
yellowlightman Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Well I hope they spruce it up for the final game. The screenshots show bad anti-aliasing and the textures look abit...uhhh....dated. So in other words... It looks like a regular PS2 game. Such is the woe of the multi-platform game, developed for the lowest common system. Quote
Myriad Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Will it be released in Japan with a slightly edited story and called Mospeada..... Quote
Effect Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 I hate still pictures. It makes it look bad and to blocky. What I want to see is a full motion image of the gameplay. That's what is need to really see what the game is like. I hope the game doesn't take place all the time in bland settings like that. Quote
Mechwarrior Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Wow, though I am a PC Game player, that actually looks worth checking out, thanx for the update. Quote
VF-19 Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 What IS anti-aliasing, anyway? Anti-aliasing is a process that reduces the "jaggies" on a model. When you look at a line that is not horizontal or vertical in a 3d game on a 3d model, there's lots of little horizontal and vertical lines that represent the full line. This is really noticable on low polygon models and in low resolutions. Quote
Pat S Posted May 14, 2004 Posted May 14, 2004 Looks fine for a PS2 game. Hope the gameplay is interesting and fun. Glad to see a Robotech/Mospeada game come out at all. Quote
MEMO1DOMINION Posted May 15, 2004 Posted May 15, 2004 ALL THINGS A SIDE.... THE ONLY THING I DO NOT LIKE IS THE 8 PLAYER ONLINE GAMING. THATS 4 VS'S 4 WISH IT WAS 8 ON 8 LIKE SOCUM2.... THEN I CAN TAKE SOME MACROSS FANS OUT WONDER IF ALIENS WILL GET IN THE WAY WHEN WE ON A WAR...PUTS A NEW NAME TO CAMPING... HEHEHE Quote
Cyclone Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 Hmmm... Thinking on the Robotech: Crystal Dream/Macross: Another Dimension thoughts people had, I wonder if VC's rights to do this section are similar to Toynami's worldwide rights to do Mospeada toys... Cyc Quote
Gui Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 Honnestly, if the screenshots we can see in this article are from the Xbox version, then this game looks like crap: modeling sux, texturing sux, lighting sux and I bet ambient sounds will sux too... All the more as when you see some screens for a Xbox game such as Unreal championship 2 (though they may be slightly too much colorful for some... ) This is what happens when you develop a game for 2 different platforms in using the same art sources: it is adapted for one but not for the other... Lazy devs... Quote
Hoptimus Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 I bet those are PS2 shots. The Ps2 has horrible AA. I will definatley rent this one when it comes out. Quote
vfxraven19 Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 looks like it's coming nicely... but still wish they had alpha/legioss & beta/tread playability. Quote
Max Jenius Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 I bet those are PS2 shots. The Ps2 has horrible AA.I will definatley rent this one when it comes out. Why waste power on AA when Television pixels bleed into eachother(because of the way they're arranged). Only recently have we been blessed with awesome, computer style goodness, but the PS2 is old. Legioss Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 (edited) Since when the invid has become soft The script has to be revamped.. too lame... Invid: Give up now , and I may spare your life... Scott: I give up, so plss spare my life Invid: Wrong answer, you're dead meat now...Hahaha ... Really. Unless that Invid is a humanoid like Corg, for the most part the Invid believe what they're doing is on the side of good or "light". They don't see humans as people that you would "spare the life" of. It's like squashing a bug to them. edit: Oh.. you were talking about that picture. Yeah, he's humanoid. The pilot is probably just being sarcastic. They usually don't spare anything. Edited May 16, 2004 by Legioss Quote
CoryHolmes Posted May 16, 2004 Posted May 16, 2004 (edited) That just makes them more interesting EDIT: Just for those who care, robotechinvasion.comhas just opened up. Nothing there yet, but it's started and will hopefully have some content on it soon. Edited May 17, 2004 by CoryHolmes Quote
F14Tomcat Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 i hope they bring out another game for the alpha and beta (a 2pl co op maybe) Quote
CID Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 I think the game looks nice. I would definitly give it a try when it is released. I just hope that I can play this on PC and not on PS2 or others. Quote
Druna Skass Posted May 24, 2004 Posted May 24, 2004 i hope they bring out another game for the alpha and beta (a 2pl co op maybe) Now that would be cool... Quote
Wes Posted July 22, 2004 Posted July 22, 2004 Sorry to resurect the dead, but. IGN.com seems to believe it will be playable at San Deigo's Comic Con. Anyone going? Quote
