Angel's Fury Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 Now where's my f$#%*$ YF-19? You are not the only Yeah! You're not the only one you know! Pretty much the majority as a matter of fact. Thanks for the photos Rob! Quote
VF-1Guy Posted May 18, 2004 Posted May 18, 2004 Wow, the VB-6 is huge! Time to think about rearranging my shelves (again). Quote
wolfx Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 I already started collecting the Pinky:st and Pinky:Cos lines and then it dawned upon me....this line will be crazily overwhelming and might probably surpass medicom's Kubricks line in no time. OMG.....i can imagine my room filled with an army of Pinkies. I am doomed! Doomed I tell you!! I think I have to specialise... but they are all soooo cute and you just have to have one of each figure just so you can have the costume/hands/head/hair that comes with it. ARGH!!!! And on the Monster....i'm saving up on it right now. Quote
Graham Posted May 19, 2004 Author Posted May 19, 2004 I'll have to watch the opening movie of VF-X2 again, but IIRC the VB-6 does not land in shutttle mode, instead it transforms to Gerwalk mode to land and then steps on and squashes an enemy tank Graham Quote
twich Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Thanks for the awesome pics and info guys...i am really looking forward to the VF-0S and the VB-6 Koenig Monster. Now that I have a new job, maybe I can afford it. Larry Quote
Anubis Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 (edited) I'll have to watch the opening movie of VF-X2 again, but IIRC the VB-6 does not land in shutttle mode, instead it transforms to Gerwalk mode to land and then steps on and squashes an enemy tank Graham Hmm, maybe then it's intended to land in gerwalk and stay perched like that by design. It's like that in the VFX-2 flightline wallscroll as well. Gerwalk mode on the flightline. Actually not a bad idea really. No runway necessary for the Konig. Take off in gerwalk transform, and fly. That's a lot of weight to put on a landing gear, and gears for a craft as big as that would be HUGE, and would interfere with it's transformation. The gear has to fit somewhere, and there's no space for it on the monster in the legs or on the fuselage. Look at the size of the gears on a B-1 or B-2 bomber, or on a cargo plane like the C-17. They wouldn't fit on the VB-6. So there we go, it does look like the VB-6 was designed without a landing gear on purpose by the Head. So I would venture to say that what's supporting the shuttle mode on display might be the basic stand it could come with. Edited May 19, 2004 by Anubis Quote
VF-1Guy Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 The stand they are using for the VB-6 is a basic doll stand. It is the type that has a wide v-shaped upper section that can telescope. The same type of stand is used in the VF-0 picture shown earlier in this thread. Quote

Did Yamato buy the sculpt or did they pull a "Toynami" as well? Compare: From what I understand when a resin kit gets popular enough and sells enough, then sometimes a company will pick it up and mass produce it in PVC form. For exampl the recent Yamato releases of the Mai and Blue Mary figures from King of Fighters. Originally they were resin kits. Aegis! Posted May 19, 2004 Posted May 19, 2004 Mmmmm , interesting. They´re promoting the Koenig under the VF-X2 license , this might sound dumb since we´ve alredy seen a Vf-X2 toy before (VF-19A) but I can´t remember if it really had the VF-x2 logo on it. Anyway , if they´re willing to promote the Koenig under the Vf-X2 license then this could mean they´ll expand the line with other valks. Quote

Graham Posted May 24, 2004 Author Posted May 24, 2004 The IT Media site finally has some interesting pics from the Shizuoka Hobby Show, see here. They have the first pic I've seen of the VF-0S removable nose and landing gear. I can't tell for certain, but it looks like there might be a little Roy in the cockpit. Graham Quote
