EXO Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Jim Lee is the man but check out this Alex Ross rendition. It shows how Tom Welling (Smallville} might look when he grows up to be the S-Man. Is that an actual piece by Ross? I can't believe how unproportional it looks. Quote
terry the lone wolf Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Is that an actual piece by Ross? I can't believe how unproportional it looks. Go to Alex Ross.com and see it for yourself. Oh yeah, here's another one: Quote
Bloodcat Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Alex Ross overall has the DC mainstays down pat. Though Turner is pretty good most of the time. Ehh.. give me Mark Bagley's stuff though. Ultimate Spider Man is probably the best superhero comic out there. It aint all Bendis ya know.. Quote
Graham Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 While this Alex Ross guy is obviously a talented artist, when I see that golden age picture, only one thing springs immediately to mind. Let's all sing along now guys............... We're men... we're men in tights We roam around the forest looking for fights. We're men... we're men in tights. We rob from the rich and give to the poor, that's right. We may look like sissys, but watch what you say or else we'll put out your lights. (bang) We're men... we're men in tights always on guard defending the peoples rights. (Can can music) la la la la la la la la la, la la la la la la la la la... lalalalalalala (repeat). We're men..manly men We're men in tights, yes (with lisp) We roam around the forest looking for fights. We're men, we're men in tights We rob from the rich and give to the poor that's right. We may look like pansies, but don't get us wrong or else we'll put out your lights. (bang) We're men... we're men in tights (tight tights) Always on guard defending the peoples rights When your in a fix just call for the men in tights. We're butch. Graham Quote
DarkPhoenix Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 While it doesn't pertain to the thread itself.. I LUST for that movie on DVD, Graham. =P About the only movie Mel Brooks film that hasn't come out on DVD.. Quote
terry the lone wolf Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 (edited) Here's Alex Ross on the DC Multiverse. I know the DC multiple Earth theory got a "wee bit convoluted" but it was still fun. It was the only way they could get away with having a adult Robin and super-heroes having children. Ala the groovy "Super Sons" (Superman Jr. and Batman Jr.). terry the lone wolf Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Oh for those who might not know about the "Super Sons" here's a peak: Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 ah the fun of Pre-Crisis DC continuity.... Quote
Blaine23 Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 ah the fun of Pre-Crisis DC continuity.... My favorite - Beppo, the Super Monkey, of course. Beppo was a Kryptonian monkey (that's some wicked parallel evolution....) who somehow managed to stow away on the rocket that brought baby Kal-El to Earth. Natually, Beppo gained super powers once exposed to Earth's yellow sun and lower than Kryptonian gravity. Apparently keeping a low profile for years, Beppo appeared on the scene during Kal-El's time as Superboy. Beppo used his super-simian powers to cause trouble and mischief, even nearly exposing Superboy's secret identity. Superboy managed to trick Beppo into deep space, and it took the monkey years to return. Upon his return, he was rediscovered by Supergirl. Krypto and Streaky were initially not pleased, though they eventually accepted Beppo as one of them. There were tons of Super animals... they even had their own club. Quote
HG Blows Posted June 1, 2004 Posted June 1, 2004 Jim Lee for me. They both draw awesome chicks though. Quote
EXO Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 Don't know if you guys seen this (old news?)... a little OT Jim Lee's Superman toy: the rest of the series 2 toys... http://www.mamegyorai.co.jp/images/category/full/21824-1.jpg http://www.mamegyorai.co.jp/images/category/full/21824-2.jpg http://www.mamegyorai.co.jp/images/category/full/21824-3.jpg http://www.mamegyorai.co.jp/images/category/full/21824-5.jpg Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted June 5, 2004 Posted June 5, 2004 yeah, they're pretty nice, i bought the Huntress one last week. good stuff. Quote
VF-1Guy Posted June 6, 2004 Posted June 6, 2004 Superman is the only interpretation by Lee that I like in the Hush series. I especially dislike his take on Batman (ears too short and the glove blades look silly) and Joker (too demonic). The Turner Batman looks much better. Quote
