GDomino Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Really, US toy companies should learn from the Japanese about articulation.... From the JP site that gave us pics of the perfect figure Rei. What's the scoop on this figure? Was this the limited edition figure released with the Konami (Japanese only?) game? http://www3.osk.3web.ne.jp/~kaiten/gallery...n/hoihoisan.htm For more pics go to the site's front page and scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the last 6 links (in japanese). rikiryou Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 (edited) O_O Wow, a poseable Hoihoi-san fig! There was one before, and it couldn't pose. http://www011.upp.so-net.ne.jp/pony-hp/PS2-HOIHOI.htm Which came with the game I think (limited edition it seems) This new one... I don't know the details around it. Except that I want one now. XD More pics: http://www011.upp.so-net.ne.jp/FILITHEYO/HOIHOI-DD.htm Boy, this thing is pretty sizeable. And look at that Rei figure, not as small as people really thought, eh? Edited April 20, 2004 by rikiryou Quote
GDomino Posted April 20, 2004 Author Posted April 20, 2004 Thanks for the info rikiryou. I'm relieved that this isn't the limited edition game figure... Now I just have to find out who makes this and where to get it. I know next to nothing about the game or the storyline behind this character but who can resist this armed to the teeth cutesy. Quote
wolfx Posted April 21, 2004 Posted April 21, 2004 Who's HoiHoi and what game she from? I'd want it. Quote
rikiryou Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 (edited) Hoihoi-san is from the game called... Hoihoi-san. Pretty blunt isn't it? Well, to be exact, it's Ichigeki sacchuu!! Hoihoi-san, or 一撃殺虫!!ホイホイさん. She comes in a blister pack identical to the one you see in the first link I posted. Here's a link to the official site: http://www.konamityo.com/hoihoisan/ The concept is somewhat like Medarots/Medabots. You start the game off, buying your own Hoihoi-san (she's the size of that action figure, as it suggests, 1/1 scale), she comes with a handgun, and a sword. You play through missions as Hoihoi-san and kills insects (as the title suggests: killing pests in a blow), get cash, buy more weapons/ammunition/different coloured maid costume/other costumes (like a swimsuit). As the game progresses you bump into some people, one of which is a Hoihoi-san geek who has a lot of junk for her and gives you stuff, e.g. Hoihoi-san lift, to go up desks, shelves, etc. She runs on battery, so you'll have to get to the charger if you play the stage too long. Overall, the game isn't really that great, to be frank. ^^;; It's a tad bit too linear and simple, it gets repetitive very quickly. I haven't played through it too much since I don't have much time, so what I've written is what I've played of it so far. Edit: Hmm, didn't know Kunihiko Tanaka did the designs... Interesting. Have a look at what he has in his site: http://www3.tky.3web.ne.jp/~r4kmt/menu/top.htm Edited April 22, 2004 by rikiryou Quote
rnurmin Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 O_O Wow, HoiHoi-san for sure is very well armed and equipped Quote
wolfx Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 I want one..... WHere do i get one? And how many accesories does it ship with? Quote
GDomino Posted April 22, 2004 Author Posted April 22, 2004 (edited) I really want one too...BAD. Hey rikiryou or anyone, does anyone know if this figure has been released yet? Its just strange that I see all these pics of the toy being displayed seemingly at some dude's house... Any idea who the manufacturer is? Is it Konami JP? Thanks. Edited April 22, 2004 by GDomino Quote
wolfx Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 The figure has been released about the same time as the rei manga figure. Its being spammed all over the toyboards though at that time i didn't know what it was. Quote

rikiryou Posted April 22, 2004 Posted April 22, 2004 From what I can comprehend of it... apparently this Hoihoi-san fig is a limited batch that could only be ordered via Dengeki Daiou (monthly mag). Which means: the fig is only limited to Japan. Unless you want to use some online service and get it off Japan's Yahoo! Auctions, that go as low as 11,000 yen or so. Pricey ain't it? And it also seems there were option parts you could get off Figure Maniacs, too, which is also another monthly mag. Now, the question is: is it worth going through all the trouble and cost to get it? cwmodels Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) This thread needs some update! Ichigeki Sacchu!! HoiHoi-san (One-Shot Bug Killer!! Interceptor Doll HoiHoi-san) is a Japanese comic with story set in the future at a time when insects are immune to all insecticides, so Japanese pharmaceutical companies have had to come up with the next level in insect extermination: small but heavily armed robots. Hoihoi-san is the bug killing robot of the title, a 10.5 cm tall doll like robot that comes with a wide range of weapons. They can hunt down insects and kill them with miniaturized machine guns and tiny combat knives. Manga download here: http://rapidshare.com/files/289791553/Ichigeki_Sacchu_Hoihoi-san.rar OVA http://www.filestube.com/6d12a27233dd5a5b03ea/go.html The comic also spawned a PlayStation 2 game: Last year, Japanese model & toy maker Kotobukiya got the license and started producing a line of injection model kit for the series. The first wave was instantly sold out and took several months before restock became available! The kits are listed as 1/1 scale, molded in separate colors, with a decent range of articulation, including optional hands and optional face parts (different expressions & direction of eyes). The eyes, eyebrows and eyelashes are tampo printed, with other parts partially pre-painted, so you can build the models without painting. Also comes with decals for eyes & eyebrows, and markings for those who do wish to paint them. The line up for the kits include several color variations and other types of Interceptor Dolls. ID-3 HOIHOI-san HoiHoi-san normal version (comes with pistol, sword, broom, option hands & eyes) HoiHoi-san Alice version (color variation with Alice in Wonderland scheme) HoiHoi-san Heavy Battle version (color variation comes heavy duty machine canon, Hammer, sake bottle, optional smile/dislike face parts, and the braided hair parts) HoiHoi-san Nightmare version (color variation of Heavy Battle version) COMBAT-san Combat-san (comes with laser gun, taser, option hands & eyes) Combat-san Tactical Suit version (comes with chainsaw, knife, option hands & eyes) Edited July 7, 2010 by cwmodels Quote
wolfx Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 I always wanted to get myself one of these but was worried about the face painting part that i might not get the same results out of the box. But since you mentioned the brows and stuff are tampo printed, i think i'll get myself one of these Alice scheme is cute! Quote
Mercurial Morpheus Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 (edited) Wolfx, I've built one for a friend. The face is entirely pre-printed. So the figure can be constructed with no painting at all. Though the weapons would benefit. Have at it. Edited July 7, 2010 by Mercurial Morpheus Quote
cwmodels Posted July 7, 2010 Posted July 7, 2010 PEST X-san Pest X-san (comes with Knife, sword, option hands, optional Grinning face & eyes) Also coming soon is "Oboro", Pest-X's custom motorbike. wolfx Posted April 24, 2011 Posted April 24, 2011 Made my very 1st Hoihoi and combat-san yesterday. Very nice figs. My only complaint is that Hoihoi's hair "explodes" if you're not careful, since they're connected not in very tight joints. I'm looking at how to glue the thing together and remain modifiable (changing the faces). Quote
Shaorin Posted April 26, 2011 Posted April 26, 2011 (edited) i wouldn't mind adding this little cupcake to my Anime girl collection, if i could only spare $40.00USD one of these days for such a silly little thing; EDIT; okay, blast it, you guys!! after doing some looking into it, i'm pretty much sold on this concept! it's just too adorable!! i don't know when i'll be affording it, hopefully soon, but im definitely gonna be getting the standard black/white Hoihoi and her little charger!! the whole thing's just too cute!! the whole thing will cost me around $70, but gosh darn it, you only go around the world once, and besides, she's so ♥Cute♥ Edited April 26, 2011 by Shaorin Quote
thegunny Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I just finished mine the other day. At rest awaiting orders. Bug detected. Ready to go. A bit more firepower needed. Cleaning up the mess. Combat-san reporting for duty. Ready to go. Let me at em! More firepower. What you lookin at? Target aquired. See ya later. Quote
wolfx Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Nice work painting the weapons. Haven't got around to mine yet. Quote

JELEINEN Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 I have a few Hoiho-san models that I haven't gotten around to yet. I should try and see if I can get a Pest X just so I have all three of the main ones. I love the manga. Too bad CMX never released any more of it over here. Quote
thegunny Posted April 27, 2011 Posted April 27, 2011 Nice work painting the weapons. Haven't got around to mine yet. Thanks. That was the big let down with both kits. The figures need no painting apart from a clear coat to get rid of the plastic look but the weapons were all one colour and it wasn't even close to what they were supposed to look like. Quote
Nekko Basara Posted December 18, 2014 Posted December 18, 2014 I'm dredging this old thread up, because:A) I've recently become addicted to HoiHoi-san & co, and B) If anyone is interested in the "Mini" version kit from Kotobukiya, Amazon has them with Prime shipping for an absurdly low price ($9.01 as I write this, and dropping daily). This is the black&white version that comes with a tiny pre-painted figure instead of the "HoiHoi-Carry" wagon. Quote
Nekko Basara Posted December 19, 2014 Posted December 19, 2014 Update: the $9.01 price is still available from a non-Prime seller, but the ones sold directly by Amazon went up to $11 and change. Still a great deal; the MSRP on the kit is around 3000 yen. Quote
Nekko Basara Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 Not that anybody cares, but I grabbed three of the Minis and did a little painting to make this trio: Quote
JB0 Posted February 26, 2015 Posted February 26, 2015 I care! I have nothing constructive to add, though. ... Not that it's stopped me before. I guess I just have nothing to add, period. But that's not the same as not caring! Those three ARE adorable. Quote
