zeus the zentran Posted April 19, 2004 Posted April 19, 2004 Hi, folks.I went to the theatrical premiere of Otaku Unite in Philly at the Philly Film Fest.I had a heck of a time. They had a cosplay gathering before the film and it was being recorded on video for the dvd and got interviewed in my Harlock costume. So I'll probably be on the dvd bonus features. The Carl Macek interview in the movie was interesting he talked about the angry fan reactions to Robotech.Myself I have mixed feelings about it.It is pretty painfull to watch what he diid to those shows at times but he did give a second chance to shows like Southern Cross and Mospeda and he did help bring the first animes unedited to the U.S. with Streamline. The after party was coll, too.I saw some Kaiju but unfotunate I had to leave before Peelander Z played. Mr March Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 I just read a review for this film today. I very much want to see it and see if there has been any improvement to the proper scollarly analysis of anime by western enthusiasts. So far most of the books and films on the subject have been horribly inaccurate and shallow. Quote
JELEINEN Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 (edited) Streamline unedited? I guess maybe if you don't want to count re-writing the story... Is there a link for this film? Edited April 20, 2004 by JELEINEN Quote
