the white drew carey Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 What a rip off!!! You have to get the SE just to get the widescreen version... and it still comes with the damned full-screen version?!? What's the point? Quote
bandit29 Posted April 14, 2004 Author Posted April 14, 2004 both discs will be in anamorphic widescreen Quote
bsu legato Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 I had to reread that twice before I caught the difference between discs 1 and 2 of the "SE" version. As dejr8bud said, no DTS = no SE for me. Quote
the white drew carey Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 both discs will be in anamorphic widescreen Silly me. I read wrong (or mis-interpreted). Thanks for pointing out my folly, dejr8bud. I can always count on you to keep my feet on the ground! Quote

Anubis Posted April 15, 2004 Posted April 15, 2004 An update from Animeondvd: The price on the listing for the SE was wrong. GitS: SAC Update (02:18 PM EST): After the announcement yesterday, we went and talked briefly with Bandai Entertainment about it. According to them, the special edition release will list for $49.95 and not the listed $59.95 in the press release. We also got confirmation that the entire series will be done in DTS and there are multiple special editions planned, though no details given on what would be in them. I expect TRSI's listing should be updated soon as well. I found it here: http://images.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=home...DUTF-8%26sa%3DN and done some ImageReady to resize and put a frame on it. Quote

Oh well, I'll just wait for the results of the lottery at the end of this month. Quote

The standard single dvd with the first four episodes is just $18. Edited April 16, 2004 by Panon Quote

bsu legato Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 so for those who have seen the fansubs how is this series? is it worth purchasing? If you only buy one anime for the rest of your life*, Stand Alone Complex should be that anime. It's that good. * assuming you already own SDF Macross, of course. Quote
