RedMax1
I would check the following site http://www.doom9.org/ There are plenty fo free programs out there that will allow you to do what you need. I have tried it once or twice and its not to hard to set up.
shensei_ind._cadman
You can also try this site as well. Along with many tutorials, it has links to Freeware you can download to rip DVD's. look for one called DVD2AVI pretty simple to use, although there may be others to use as well. http://www.dvdrhelp.com/
the white drew carey
OK, here's a question: AVI to VCD or SVCD? I'm running a Mac and I'm looking for something for free.

the white drew carey
Check this guide out.http://www.gkhull.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/avitosvcdguide.htm Thanks, but it doesn't really help me. His guide is for PC and most of the programs he references are Windows only and I'm not knowledgable enough to know what Mac programs are equal or compatible.
