Kamui 777 Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 (edited) Without getting into an opinion battle whether or not you liked the last couple of episodes of EVA, I'm just curious if there is any confirmation why the they were done like the way they were. I heard that Anno wanted to do the last two eps according to his vision and that was that. But if you look at last six or so, it seems that there were budget cuts (black pillars of SEELE instead of people, long still scenes, storyboard drawings in the last two eps, etc.) Can anyone confirm? Anubis Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 I've heard both. Never really sure as to which was more true though. Could have been a combination. He apparently wanted people to come to their own conclusions so the last two episodes probably would have been vague regardless of wether there were budget cuts or not. IMO at least. He was resistant to making the EoE movies at first, then eventually repented and made the movies. Quote
Kamui 777 Posted April 16, 2004 Author Posted April 16, 2004 I've read somewhere that Anno said (paraphrasing) "If you don't understand Eva, that's your problem" at a convention. That's why I think the last couple of eps is what he wanted. Quote
Guppy Posted April 16, 2004 Posted April 16, 2004 I see it more like Anno's mental breakdown on film. Quote
