UN Spacy Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Go HERE for the vid (Quicktime required). Be afraid. Be very afraid. I know it's CG but one can dream can't they. Quote
GobotFool Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 pretty cool, the design reminds me of a patlabor. Quote
Blaine23 Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I had a guaranteed military sale with ED209! Renovation program! Spare parts for 25 years! Who cares if it worked or not! Quote
KingNor Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 its good to see people don't belive this one the way they did for that "transformer" had some weird compositing. but was fun to watch. Quote
bsu legato Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Looks like a primitive version of Briareos from Appleseed. Quote
Black Valkyrie Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Impressive but when you think about it ............ SCARY ! BTW Spacy from did you get this and who built it ? . . . . . . . . . . . . SCARY Quote
the white drew carey Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I wanna be a police robot when I grow up!!! Quote
Blaine23 Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I wanna be a police robot when I grow up!!! Well... anything's possible, Drew, but only if you really believe. 1. Study hard in school. No one wants a dumb police robot. 2. Work hard and join the police academy. 3. Get caught off-guard trying to rescue your partner in a rundown factory in Old Detroit by a group of colorful and merciless cop-killing thugs. 4. Get shot into little, bitty, gory pieces while the thugs laugh at your expense. 5. Pray your ass off that a giant corporate entity will take your mangled, barely alive corpse and implant it into a state of the art killing machine. Quote
Agent ONE Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 *points gun at all of you* YOU HAVE 20 SECONDS TO COMPLY! Quote
EXO Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 I know it's CG but one can dream can't they. Is it CG? I think it's a puppet/goppelganger. Nice work though, camera shakes were added to make it blend in more. Quote
Gaijin Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 Cool...like to have one of those backing us up once in awhile. Quote
CoryHolmes Posted April 12, 2004 Posted April 12, 2004 If it was CG, it was remarkably high quality CG. I enjoyed it, though it was a bit boring and non-involving. And yes, it looks clearly like the designers took a page from Shirow's work and started with a basic version of Briarios. Still cool, though Quote
wolfx Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Cool. Now with the discontinued comanche project, clearly make Valks now. Quote

Or as Clarence Boddicker once put it.... "Well give the man a hand!!" BTW - no matter what I see Kurtwood Smith in, he'll always be Clarence Boddicker to me. Quote
Greyryder Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Extremely well rendered. As good or better than some proffesional work I've seen. The compositing is excelent. Judging by the way it moves, I'd say it's been motion captured. Quote

And we all know I'm not one to strike. Quote
Blaine23 Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 Well said!!Or as Clarence Boddicker once put it.... "Well give the man a hand!!" BTW - no matter what I see Kurtwood Smith in, he'll always be Clarence Boddicker to me. Same here. I bug a guy here at work named Bob everyday by doing my best Boddiker and saying - "Can you fly, Bobby?" of course, my favorite Boddiker line ever... "Bitches Leave!" Quote
EXO Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 How about... "Eric! You dumbass! The next time you and you friends touch one of my beers you're all gonna get a foot in the ass, starting with the foreign boy!" Ah... that Clarence Boddiker cracks me up.... I can't believe he got married and had kids and moved to Wisconsin... Quote
Agent ONE Posted April 13, 2004 Posted April 13, 2004 I always liked guy that fell into the toxic waste then turned into a mutant then got hit by Clarance's car and then exploded on the windshield... all Clarance says is "crap." Quote
FlyingPika Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 (edited) theres alot of CGI in there, you can tell by the lighting. But extremely well done. The thing abotu good CGI is that you cant tell. But if its Real life, then you can. OMW at the end it says tv-robotics.co.za .co.za is south african omw i cant beleive it, i had no idea my country was capable of such, theres hope for south africa yet ^^ Edited April 14, 2004 by FlyingPika Quote
CoryHolmes Posted April 14, 2004 Posted April 14, 2004 No, no, no. You all have it wrong. The best Boddiker line of ever is: "Ooooh, guns, guns, guns! C'mon Sal! Tigers are playing toh-night! I never miss a game." *click* "Heh heh heh. Just kidding." Quote
Otaku-Smeghead Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Aprently this IS CGI the webpage of the Company who did this on their front page has FX shots from Stargate Sg1 the TV Show so I think they are based in Vancouver Quote
Valkyrie Nut Posted April 20, 2004 Posted April 20, 2004 Impressive, I like how the body movement is very realistic Quote
