Apollo Leader Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 It's almost the 8th where I live, but on April 7, 1979 the first episode of Mobile Suit Gundam was aired in Japan! A legend was born! April 1979... I was in preschool at that time... I'm getting old! Quote
Stamen0083 Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Happy Anniversary. 25 years and still going strong. Here's to a bright new future and a better 25 years. Quote
Anubis Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Anime News Network was kind enough to remind us that April 7th marked the day the first episode of Mobile Suit Gundam first premiered on TV in Japan back in 1979. Thus, happy 25th Anniversary Gundam! Maybe now they can release the R2 DVD set to commemorate soon, and in turn R1 can be allowed to release a subbed set of the original classic after that. Quote
Anubis Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 (edited) oops, never mind, Apollo Leader beat me to it. someone please nuke this thread Edited April 8, 2004 by Anubis Quote
Anubis Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 My dumb ass went and made a new thread without noticing this one Anyway, Happy 25th Gundam! Maybe now the R2 DVD's will be released and in turn R1 can then be allowed to release a subbed version of the original classic. Quote
Beware of Blast Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Ha! Agent Smith... a mod will set your nest on fiya. Quote
Greyryder Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Well then, I won't be poo pooing a living thread when I ask this question. After twenty five years, are they finally going to design a new gundam, or just continue the grand tradition of tacking a few extra bits on to the existing design? I liked what I saw of the original series, but from what I've seen of the newer shows, all the gundams look just like the old ones. The only way I can tell any of them apart is if they've got some weird bits hanging off the back. Personaly I still like the gundam from War in a Pocket, best. Despise the series, but the gundam was cool. Quote
Eternal_D Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 bah, stop makin the anime and just come out with cooler mechs as toys and MG/PG... Quote
UN Spacy Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 Happy 25th Birthday to the entire staff that brought us the juggernaut that is GUNDAM. May you continue to have great success overseas and abroad. Now.....get started on a PG Dendrobium. Quote

You've been warned... Quote
sidearmsalpha Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 At first, I was appalled by the Turn A Gundam, but it doesn't seem too bad now. I wouldn't mind picking up the diecast toy. Quote
Bloodcat Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 I consider the Turn A to be the 2nd coolest main hero Gundam. The Zeta is of course first! Quote
Greyryder Posted April 9, 2004 Posted April 9, 2004 That's the first Gundam I've ever seen that doesn't look all the ones that came before it. Wonder how much moustache wax it goes through... Quote
