Anubis Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 (edited) I'd bring an actual persocom home. Not a fake statue one like that, but a real Chii or something. Edited April 7, 2004 by Anubis Quote
the white drew carey Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Not bad. The second one (standing) doesn't remain terribly faithful to the lineart, especially in the face, and I think it suffers for it. Also, the paint jobs don't look to great, either. Quote
areaseven Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Some people just have too much time on their hands. Quote
dna Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 It's kinda neat in a way. But I don't think I would spend that much time on it... Quote
NERV Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 i dont know whether to laugh or vomit at this disturbing display of fanboyism Quote
Nightbat Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 I wonder what that foam does to your mainboard Quote
Anubis Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 I wonder what that foam does to your mainboard I was thinking that same thing looking at the assembly. What if foam bits gets on the mainboard? Also, what about the heat dissipation? Were these liquid cooling pipes I saw? I would think foam would have a static problem as well. Quote
Valkyrie Posted April 7, 2004 Posted April 7, 2004 Ya know, anyone who'll build something like that and then actually keep it in their apartment, must have resolved themselves to the fact that they'll never have a girlfriend.... Quote
imode Posted April 8, 2004 Posted April 8, 2004 I wonder what that foam does to your mainboard I was thinking that same thing looking at the assembly. What if foam bits gets on the mainboard? Also, what about the heat dissipation? Were these liquid cooling pipes I saw? I would think foam would have a static problem as well. Nothing really. Should be okay as long as they don't conduct electricity and short things out. The PC itself looks like its liquid cooled. You can see the waterblocks and conduits pretty easily in this picture: http://sae.cside.com/sae/kat/pc/ern002/03h1509/09-02.JPG You can also see the conduits leading to the 3 radiator fans in the head here: http://sae.cside.com/sae/kat/pc/ern002/03h...cture/12-04.JPG I gotta agree, that's some rampant fanboyism, but the construction is pretty crazy. If only he could channel those talents into something less pathetic... Quote
wolfx Posted April 8, 2004 Author Posted April 8, 2004 He even has a RX-78 Gundam casing. http://sae.cside.com/sae/kat/pc/rx-78pc/erx78.htm One of the better works since its blocky. What's impressive is the dude's a purebred Japanese but he either has fluent english, or someone is translating his site for him. Quote
