spanner Posted April 14, 2015 Posted April 14, 2015 Uhhh... Before you continue with this request, have you seen the final piece? looks friggin awesome! I love it! Quote
the white drew carey Posted March 18, 2016 Author Posted March 18, 2016 Hey all. It has definitely been a while. A rough year that started with me breaking a bone in my hand has just been a bit crappy. I haven't been drawing nearly as much as I want to, and have let myself (and others) down along with it.Any-hoo... I've been stewing on a project for a while and basically told myself to do it. Hopefully this will jump start the other things I want to (or should) be working on.This is going to be for my second EX-S Gundam / Alice in Wonderland composition. What you see here is the flatted layer which I will now use for coloring. Quote
Mr March Posted March 18, 2016 Posted March 18, 2016 Welcome back! So good to hear you're still around!I'm very much looking forward to you new work. As a colorist, I think I can guess what you're doing for this new image. It looks very promising. Your last Gundam EX-S was great. BTW, I completed the latest update to my website several months ago and your work was featured. Thanks again for your help! Quote
GU-11 Posted April 4, 2016 Posted April 4, 2016 I didn't know there was a Macross fanart thread here. Those drawings are awesome, Drew! Quote
eosmusashi Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Ok I'll bite. This is overall how my project is going. Done in Blender 3d, and still lots to learn. You can follow the updates in my webpage: http://www.eosmusashi.wordpress.com And a video back from 2015 (it's been 2 years!): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H2BQj9r39Wk Quote
GU-11 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 A gorgeous rendering of my favorite valk! BTW, lol at the Donald Trump test background! Quote
Knight26 Posted April 21, 2016 Posted April 21, 2016 Nice, how did you do the in cockpit effect? Quote
eosmusashi Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 GU-11, thanks! yeah, I guess I'm not too fond of The Donald (I'm Mexican) Knight26, It's a texture projected on the screens geometry from the point of view of the pilot. So i put a camera in that point, made a render of the background only, and then projected it as a texture. I'm going to make an image sequence of that camera, and then project the image sequence animation as an animated texture so it looks like it's displaying it real-time. My computer will likely scream at me. Quote
Knight26 Posted April 22, 2016 Posted April 22, 2016 Ok, so it's not a real time render then, i.e. you render the scene from those angles, apply the textures then rerender? Quote
eosmusashi Posted April 25, 2016 Posted April 25, 2016 Knight26, yeah, not a real-time render (yet ) Quote
the white drew carey Posted June 13, 2016 Author Posted June 13, 2016 My first drawing with India ink and nibs. Going to color it in digitally though, but with a nifty watercolor tool. Quote
the white drew carey Posted June 15, 2016 Author Posted June 15, 2016 WIP of Bernie, using Kyle Webster's Watercolor brush set for Photoshop. Quote
Mr March Posted June 15, 2016 Posted June 15, 2016 OMG! Gundam 0080! I love this! It's like my favorite Gundam story. You work looks amazing so far. Really looking forward to this one. Quote
chillyche Posted June 16, 2016 Posted June 16, 2016 Holy crap, that looks incredible The White Drew Carey. Beautiful line work, and that digital water color... well, I woulda bought that it was prismacolor markers or actual water color. So dope. Quote
the white drew carey Posted August 3, 2016 Author Posted August 3, 2016 Got a new one in the pipeline. Here's a sneak peak of the flatting layer: Quote
the white drew carey Posted February 20, 2017 Author Posted February 20, 2017 This one has been a bit dormant for a while, but I just picked up a new set of nibs, so I'm diving back in. Quote
the white drew carey Posted February 28, 2017 Author Posted February 28, 2017 Coming along, slowly but surely. I came down with a double ear infection which kinda sidelined me for a few days. Here's a bit of the shading layers in action. Quote
