Kurt Posted March 27, 2004 Posted March 27, 2004 I'm back to show you my next commissioned custom. I have completely customed a 1/48 VF-1S. This is entirely re-painted. This is actually first of three DYRL VF-1S that I am doing. They will include the Hikaru you see here and a Max and Roy. The Max is just about finished, just have the head to complete. And the Roy is well along in the painting process. And yes, there will be fast packs for them. I wanted to complete the valks first to insure the masking for all the black was consistant. I will then work on all three fast pack sets together. Let me know what you think. Thanks! Quote
UN Spacy Posted March 27, 2004 Posted March 27, 2004 Dayaam! Excellent work Kurt.....you make my VF-1S look pale by comparison. The wash and great stickers really make a BIG difference. Now it looks more model than toy. Quote
Skull-1 Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 Dude, what's up with that gay light-up head visor? It looks like an MPC. BLECK. JUST KIDDING MAN! Nice job! Absolutely gorgeous. Quote
Godzilla Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 Nice custom. And you did it from scratch? Wow. Quote
ChristopherB Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 Beautiful custom! I love the weathering, it's nice to see a valkyrie that doesn't look minty fresh, or have obvious panel lines. Can you tell us who the lucky customer is? I can't wait to see what you do with the fast packs. Quote
Kurt Posted March 28, 2004 Author Posted March 28, 2004 Can you tell us who the lucky customer is? The customer is a member here. I will let them decide if they want to be recognized. Thanks for the all the compliments. Quote
EXO Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 (edited) Beautiful! EDIT: I just realized they're suppose to be all VF-1Ss... I suck! Edited March 30, 2004 by >EXO< Quote
ewilen Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 Looks great! But I'm wondering about the nose blisters--given that they're sensors, shouldn't they be kept clean? Quote
g3173 Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 My good friend Gene perhaps? Hey Chris how'd you guess You know I can't resist a nicely done VF. Kurt awesome job I can't wait to see what they all look like together with their FP's on! Regards, Gene Quote
Wicked Ace Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 Nicely done! I especially like the gunpod. Quote
Anasazi37 Posted March 28, 2004 Posted March 28, 2004 So *that* is what Gene and you had up your sleeves when you ordered the DYRL decal sets. I was wondering if you were doing a full repaint or just adding details. Nice work! The fully armored trio is going to be one heck of a sight to behold.... Quote
Neova Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 Now that is a nice "stock" Valkyrie! Great job Kurt! Is there an LED in the visor? If so, where did you hide the wiring? I was planning on that same mod to my Hikaru. Quote
Kurt Posted March 29, 2004 Author Posted March 29, 2004 Is there an LED in the visor? If so, where did you hide the wiring? I was planning on that same mod to my Hikaru. No LED was added. This is just a reflection. Interesting idea though. Quote

This is just a reflection. Interesting idea though. No it' isn't... don't do it Kurt! It's funny how the 1/48 eyes glow better than the MPC's. No batteries required. At least the whole head doesn't light up. The red sensor on the gunpod reflects quite nicely also on the 1/48s. Quote
Jawjaw Posted March 29, 2004 Posted March 29, 2004 Wow Nice detail work. Everything looks absolutely perfect. Quote
Graham Posted March 30, 2004 Posted March 30, 2004 Outstanding work as always Kurt. I'll get this up in the MW toy gallery as soon as I have time. Graham Quote
Powered Convoy Posted March 30, 2004 Posted March 30, 2004 That is one sweet custom! I love the look of the head and of the Fighter mode. Randy Quote
