VF19 Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 So, What are your favortie anime songs. mind you, these dont have to be opening or ending themes, they can be any song. I know I personally like Haruka Kanata, the Naruto 2nd season opener. Quote
GreatMoose Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 I like "Shell" from Witch Hunter Robin. Sweet song. Quote
Max Jenius Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 I know I personally like Haruka Kanata, the Naruto 2nd season opener. and the first ending "Wind" Quote
VF19 Posted March 24, 2004 Author Posted March 24, 2004 I liked it, but it was unusual for a song. still kicked ass though. you a big naruto'er max? Quote
Father Jack Posted March 24, 2004 Posted March 24, 2004 Opening to Haibane Renmei I think it's called free bird Quote
JELEINEN Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Opening to the new Area 88 TV series. Bach's Little Fugue in G Minor has always been my favorite classical piece. Quote
Commander McBride Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 I'm thinking it may be "Space Boy", from Initial D. The first song in the series, and possibly the best. Quote
GDomino Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 What a coinkydink---I just got done composing Cruel thesis from NGE into my new cell phone! So yeah my fave is Cruel Thesis---the piano instrumentals used in the original last episodes. Quote
halfan Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 I love the song Dakedo Baby! on the Mac7 ending credits. I made some tapes for a friend and his roommate overheard it and dubbed it the Partridge Family song Quote
soze Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 (edited) I know I personally like Haruka Kanata, the Naruto 2nd season opener. and the first ending "Wind" Naruto: (In no particular Order) - Wind - Haruka Kanata - Kanashimi wo Yasashisa Ni - Alive Noir: - Cante Per Me - Salva Nos Macross Plus: - Idol Talk - Information Highway - The Borderline - Wanna Be An Angel Initial D: (that song by Glay) Edited March 25, 2004 by soze Quote
jwinges Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Favorites include: Almost anything from Cowboy bebop and macross plus Trigun song that the little kid starts singing at the end of the runaway sand train episode. I like the chick version better. Noir opening. The end of inu yasha The ballad of Ranma and akane Quote
ewilen Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 I don't know if these are my favorites; I just like them. 1. Opening song from Kiki's Delivery Service--the one that's on the radio as she flies away from home. 2. "Ride like Shooting Star" from FLCL. 3. "Runner"--ending theme from SDF Macross. Quote
Mellow Yellow Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 I like "Shell" from Witch Hunter Robin. Sweet song. That song is still one of my most favorite anime songs. The instrumental guitar version is just as good too Quote
Solscud007 Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Gamble Rumble by Move from Initial D the movie Quote
Greyryder Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 My favorites are On Through the Night from Outlaw Star, and Real Folk Blues from Cowboy Bebop. (quite possibly the only good thing from that show) Quote
gnollman Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 The opener to the Ping Pong club continues to crack my crap up on a consistent basis. 'Pure Snow' from Himikoden is also a beautiful track.. and the opening animation is where they must have spent the majority of their budget, as it is beautiful and the rest of the show's art merely mediocre. The OP to Neo-Ranga is pretty nice, too... as well as any of the BGC songs. And can't forget 'Angel's Cruel Thesis' from Evangelion... Man, I could just go on and on.... Quote
VF19 Posted March 25, 2004 Author Posted March 25, 2004 Ah, yes, in addition, Id like to add: Funny Bunny: FLCL Crazy Sunshine: may not be in FLCL, but its by the same artist One life: Same. Quote
Mechamaniac Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 My favorites are On Through the Night from Outlaw Star, and Real Folk Blues from Cowboy Bebop. (quite possibly the only good thing from that show) Dude, you're smoking crack, Bebop is a great series... As to my favorites, I am currently torn.... I too am on the Shell bandwagon, that is a great tune. However, for pure guitar awesomeness, I have to say the song from Trigun, not sure of the title, but it packs some awesome acoustic guitar. All time favorite? - Torn once again between Ai Oboete Imasu Ka from DYRL, and Himitu Kudasai from Megazone 23 PTII Quote
Commander McBride Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Gamble Rumble by Move from Initial D the movie That song kicks ass. I was debating between it and Space Boy. I listen to Gamble Rumble in my S14 all the time, when i'm on the Touge. Quote
Lindem Herz Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 In no particular order. Runner - Duet version. Cinderella - A Capella version. Angel's Paint - 15th Anniversary version Angel Voice - Depending of the mood, either Basara's or Mari's version. Macross - FIRE BOMBER VERSION!!!!!! (the one in the tribute) probably the most EMPOWERING song in the whole Macross realm. Planetes sountrack. ALL of it. Specially Dive in the Sky (best opening sequence EVER) and Secret from the Moon. Anything by Yoko Kanno. Can't go wrong with her. Most things from L'Arc en Ciel (Runner's High, probably the second best opening sequence ever) And VF19, Crazy Sunshine (by The Pillows) IS in FLCL. Chapter four, batting the satelite sequence. Quote

Anubis Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Anything from Sharon Apple is good. The Escaflowne soundtrack is also a favorite, as well as anything from FLCL or Full Metal Panic. Or course the song DYRL ranks up there. I am also kind of partial to Meteor from Gundam Seed. Quote
Jolly Rogers Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Eternal Wind - Gundam F91 Excellent choice. That song stayed on top of the J-pop charts for several months, definitely one of my faves. I also love the theme songs of Sumire and Iris from the first 2 Sakura Wars. Too bad they didn't get new ones in Sakura Wars 4. Quote
bsu legato Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 I'm not really a fan of J-pop, but Trigun's H.T. (the guitar riff over the credits) is still a favorite of mine. Quote
Keith Posted March 25, 2004 Posted March 25, 2004 Hmm, in no particular order. -The first opening to the Shin Cutey Honey OVA -All of the Cowboy Bebop soundtrack. -All of the Macross Soundtrack (including TV, DYRL, FB, Plus, 7, Zero) -Another vote for the Yamato intro. -Orguss intro. -Thanatos (vocal version from EoE) -Stand Up To The Victory (first V Gundam intro) -Both Zeta intro's -All the vocal songs from the Gundam 0079 movies. -Lodoss OVA themes -Galaxy Express 999 (movie & TV) themes, Brave Love by the Alfee for the Eternal Fantasy movie was also pretty good. -Another vote for Mazinkaiser's badass intro. -Mahoromatic season 1 ending. -Ending credits song during Megazone 23 Prt 1 -Eve's last song in Megazone 23 prt 2 -Ex-Driver intro.
