ewilen Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/macross.htmRight you are, Ewilen. You get a prize. I wanted Raffi! Quote
Radd Posted March 17, 2004 Posted March 17, 2004 I'm not convinced about the girl in the backseat, it really seems as if she's framed by the edges of the cockpit, and a cloud in the background, giving the illusion that it's a poster. You'll also notice that the sky gets darker around the edges of the screenshot. This is a very gradual change when you see the whole sky, but that small section, framed as I pointed out, looks rather sudden, adding to the appearance of being a different shade of blue than the sky. Also notice that the image itself warps slightly at the edges of the screen. I'm not saying that it definitely is supposed to be a real girl, either. I'm simply pointing out that what evidence there is, isn't really evidence at all. In fact, I was thinking it may be a poster just from the screenshot, before reading the thread. I still want to see a custom made of that, though. Quote
the white drew carey Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Yeah, the more I look at it, it is a pin-up. I've duplicated and zoomed in on the image. I've shown the poster's outline in BLUE and the curve of the back of the cockpit/canopy in RED. What else clues in that it's a pin-up is that the top of it is uneven, and doesn't even closely reflect what the cockpit's lines should be like. Plus, the character itself looks like it's meant to be 2- dimensional. Quote
Kamui 777 Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 This frame wasn't in Robotech. I remember watching it in the the deleted scenes the last box set had. Quote
JB0 Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Blasphemy!!! the thought of Focker flying a Cannon I have seen a lot of "Easter Eggs" in the RT version, I'm pretty sure this one is not in there... HG (blows) made sure to rid RT of all "sexual" and most of the "alcohol" references. I would love to see a RT "unrated/uncensored" version released They removed the baby-throwing scene too. Quote
Sumdumgai Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 I dunno, I think it's a girl in there. Plus, that symbol at the end of "sex" looks like a combination of the male symbol and female symbol, meaning "together" (or maybe hermaphrodite, in which case this pilot is in for a surprise... ). Quote
Southcross Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Unfamiliar with the baby throwing scene. same here! if someone could rip said "baby throwing" scene and be willing to upload it to my FTP server... I would forever love you! Quote
Anubis Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 After Max and Millia land on the Factory Station during the episode they lead a strike to capture it, their daugter is in a pod on one of their valks. I think this is where Millia tosses her over to Max later on in this scene. I think. Quote

Gerwalker Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 How is that nobody saw the signature on this valk? It is at the left just before the nosecone: ITA= ITANO Ichiroh!!! That guy loved to make this kind of things a lot!! It can be clearly seen in the more recent screencap not in the first one of this thread. Quote

Mechwarrior Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 So how many is that total for these little surprises in Macross. Thanx for the info, great pickup. Quote
ewilen Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Geeze, there are so, so many. Somebody in the newbies thread expressed an interest in cataloging them all--I wish him the best of luck! Quote
Final Vegeta Posted March 18, 2004 Posted March 18, 2004 Anyway, someone asked about the transport. I believe it's a Glamor VC-33 "Mom's Kitchen". I think it bears some resemblance with http://www.mahq.net/mecha/macross/aircavalry/bg-5c.htm. Kawamori surely is fond of transforming stuff that didn't transform earlier. FV Quote
