Batou Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 Holy crap does that thing look cool wearing all of that stuff. I just lowered the shelf mine sit on so the strike cannon will fit. I've got two paid for and all there is to do now is endure the eternity before they arrive in my grubby little hands ... <_< These are definitely getting used! . Quote
Yohsho Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 Must get a set. Thanks for the review. What are those decals? I think one is a budwieser label but what's the top pair. Quote
Isamu Atreides 86 Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 (edited) anybody know of a Low-Vis specific FP set? or if Yamato is planning on making one? Edited September 1, 2003 by Isamu Atreides 86 Quote
twinmoons Posted September 1, 2003 Author Posted September 1, 2003 anybody know of a Low-Vis specific FP set? or if Yamato is planning on making one? Haven't heard of any news about low vis FP's yet, but I sure hope so. Quote
twinmoons Posted September 1, 2003 Author Posted September 1, 2003 * a few minutes later in photoshop * Ok, here's what I would recommend for the Low Vis: OR Quote
Yohsho Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 I like the second one fits the Low-Vis better. Quote
Smiley424 Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 Lovely, would like to have a set with a color scheme to go with the low-vis, just for kicks really. More likely I'll end up having to paint up a set myself (if I dare). Hoping for M&M VF-1J set with TV Fast-Packs (hoping, wishing, praying) Quote
Uxi Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 Definately the second pic for Low-Viz. Nice work. Quote
twinmoons Posted September 1, 2003 Author Posted September 1, 2003 And I'd stick with the standard missiles for the low vis. These just don't look right on it. Quote
Bub Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 * a few minutes later in photoshop *Ok, here's what I would recommend for the Low Vis: OR I prefer to see the Low Vis in Macross Zero................ ?? Oh. Not one of the options........ Quote
Toonz Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 twinmoons, may i use your pic to play along? Quote
twinmoons Posted September 1, 2003 Author Posted September 1, 2003 (edited) twinmoons, may i use your pic to play along? Of course, that's what it's there for Bring on the customs! I like the charcoal, that looks great too. Edited September 1, 2003 by twinmoons Quote
trueblueeyes Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 Can someone with photoshop skills do a pic of the low-viz with armor the same color as the gunpod and the missles? Just wondering what it would look like! Thanks, Melissa Quote
Sephiroth Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 (edited) I don't have a decent photoshop program so I apologize for the poor quality. I think the Low-Vis specific FAST packs should match the light blue trim of the Low-Vis VF-1A: Can someone do it better for me, please? I'd really like to see a decent pic matching the blue trim. Edited September 1, 2003 by Sephiroth Quote
Commander McBride Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 I like it in that color. I think the LW packs would look good in the same color as the LV istelf, though, in keeping with the realistic scheme. Maybe the armor would match the LV color, and the packs would be white. It's just that the real FPs on the F-15 are the F-15 body color. Maybe there won't be LV packs, though. At 15,000 each, there are already 75,000 confirmed 1/48s in normal colors, but, what, only 10,00 LVs, ever. Quote
twinmoons Posted September 1, 2003 Author Posted September 1, 2003 (edited) Ok, here's my attempt to match up the colors. I lightened up the armor a bit, added some texture to it and changed the missile colors (got a bit too blue). And I couldn't resist to gold plate'em Edited September 1, 2003 by twinmoons Quote
Yohsho Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 And I couldn't resist to gold plate'em Can we say "Bling Bling", but seriously what would the FP's look like if they were the same colour as the gunpod. Quote
Toonz Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 i'm not sure if this is "white" enough to match the low-viz gunpod.... Quote
Commander McBride Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 (edited) Like I said, try making the packs white, but the leg armor the color of the valk itself. I also think maybe the RMSs would be green, like a real AGM or bomb, which would look better on the LV. Edited September 1, 2003 by Commander McBride Quote
Commander McBride Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 That second one looks pretty good. I'd personally make it a super, not a strike, but I think that's a good scheme for the FPs. Quote
Gyges Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 I would just like to add my voice to the chorus of people correctly pointing out that Tamim is the man. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; Yay Tamim! Quote
twinmoons Posted September 1, 2003 Author Posted September 1, 2003 Hehe, thanks guys. I like the 'rusty' one. That looked pretty cool! Quote
Extra Large Mumma Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 Tamim, thank you for the pics/reviews. The bluish color is so much cooler than the greenish one on the 1:60. I wish they used blue for the 1:60 Strike. Quote
GDomino Posted September 1, 2003 Posted September 1, 2003 Gosh, those pics are so tempting....my poor poor wallet...Lemme see books and tuition or FPs?...looks like I'll be photocopying some pages from classmates for a while.. Quote
Yohsho Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Bah I've been doing that since last year to afford the valks, now just a little more and can affored the FP's. Quote
tom64ss Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Thanks for the pics and the mini review. Are the Hayoa Kakizake decals really that dark green, or is it the lighting? I always thought Kakizake's plane had a light greenish/blue color, those decals look almost forrest green. They come with Kakizake stickers??? Did I miss something? Does that mean he's getting an official release? Quote
JB0 Posted September 2, 2003 Posted September 2, 2003 Thought: The low-vis is pretty clearly an atmospheric paint scheme, as space is NOT gray(not that bright white is exactly the best choice...). It stands to reason that there wouldn't be low-vis FAST packs, as they wouldn't be low-vis if they matched the plane. Having said that, they look pretty good. Quote
Amped Posted September 3, 2003 Posted September 3, 2003 (edited) Excellent pix! I can't wait to get a set! Normally I don't dig the blue DYRL?-style colouring, prefering the greenish TV style... however, surprisingly, the stock blue doesn't look half bad with the low viz valk! I'll probably still customize 'em; but 'til I get around to it, the stock colour will do! Edited September 3, 2003 by Amped Quote
