Myriad
http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?MEG99015 Anyone have any of these? There are a couple on ebay......... Reviews?......
LePoseur
While I'm not sure, they look like the second series of the ones I mentioned in the SAC thread. If they are, they're not bad, but shorter that the Macross figures, about the size of a star wars figure. The vehicles are smaller, of course, with the tachikoma's staning about two inches tall. Of course, if this is different, or even if it's the second series, they could have increased the size a little. Interesting, I'll keep my eyes open at the 7-11 near work and see if I can score some. Myriad
Thanks! I see there are a few different types. Another type.... http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?BAN920120 Any pics of the first series anywhere? Who made the first series?
UN Spacy
It's too bad no one's gonna make action figures based off the SAC series. I'd buy the entire set if they sold for a good price. What about THESE figures? It says that they're Gashapons too. Are you gonna pick those figures up Myriad?
UN Spacy
What about these figures? Are they gonna be as large as Gashapons too? http://www.hlj.com/scripts/hljpage.cgi?ALP33166
eriku
Nice! I'd love to get those Tachikomas. Do blind packaged 'trading figures' do really well in Japan or what? I really despise the concept.

Considering there's about eleventybillion different types of Gashapon and "trading figures" I would go out on a limb and venture a guess that the answer is "yes". Maybe Yamato/Toycom will send them our way in NA. http://www.yamato-toys.com/list.php?-a=product&-id=305&menu= Edited March 14, 2004 by dejr8bud
Myriad
I am going to test waters.... I won this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MEBWN%3AIT&rd=1 Apparrently this is the figure list from the above style the seller sent me. Figures come in a box of 10 but the seller did not tell me the breakdown. Probably don't get all the figs in one box as per usual. Note in the Auction he says you can contact him for more figures from the set. He wants to sell me one of each for 80$ with free shipping. I am going to buy a few but not all at this time. I am also afraid they may become more abundant real soon. More tachis are on ebay now. 1. Motoko(A-Type) #1 2. Motoko(B-Type) #2 3. Batoh #3 4. Togusa #4 5. Blue Tachikoma #5A 6. Blue Tachikoma #5B 7.Girl figure lying on the floor with a broken face #6 8. Black Tachikoma(secret) #7 9. Girl figure lying on the floor with a good face(secret) #8 This set looks cool too! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...7&category=1345 That Tachi especially! LePoseur
That's the Tachikoma I have on my desk at work. Too bad it needs a clear stand to keep the back end up, but it's still cool. I pulled Motoko off it though, as I hate that outfit, plus the last thing I need at work is for my boss to ask why I have a tiny half naked plastic woman on my desk. They're fun, but they're only 300 yen here so don't spend too much. Of course, the full size Batou is worth every yen, but besides him and the Tachikoma, I wasn't too excited. I did end up getting him and the car in my grab (stupid mystery boxes) but that was cool enough in its own way. Good luck with your set. BTW I haven't seen any from the set you got, so I don't know what they're like, but I'm gonna stake out the 7-11 on Monday.
Myriad
Got my Tachis. They are cool little PVC's. One has a minigun and the other a cannon. The Tachis are 3 inches long, 2 inches tall and about 2.5 inches wide. The backs open up to reveal the passenger/pilot compartment. Pretty good detail and paint application for the size. They are typical PVC's with not alot of play value or movement. The legs do have a little bit of movement. They will fall apart if you play with them too much. Good news is they are easy to be put back together. These Tachi PVC's do make nice little statuets though. LePoseur
Hmmm... Myriad's is a different series from mine... might have been earlier, as I can't find it in any of the stores. The one I have (with Batou and the yellow car) have decent face sculpts, but nothing to write home about. Batou is on the good end (infact, he's almost perfect) Motoko is in the middle (but something is off about it) and Togusa is at the bottom (at least by looking at the packing). That's too bad cause I wanted a pair with him and Batou, but after checking out this face (especially the eyes) I decided I'd quit while I was ahead. Only bought three and got the Tachi, Batou and the car and the full size Batou, my top three, so I was doing pretty good. Next up would be the squating Motoko now that Togusa fell a little short of my expectations.
Myriad
All I bought were the Tachis. I don't know how good the others look. Here is someone selling them as a set. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...67&category=348 The US DVD release poster http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...6&category=1345
eriku
<dream> I want a SOC-style Tachikoma, fully articulated, with grasping claws, moving 'eyes', rolling ball-bearing style wheels, an opening cockpit and an articulated Motoko to pilot it. </dream> SAC has become one of my favorite series of all time. Right up there with SDF Macross, Lupin III and Bebop.

I'd just go for the Major figures (plus Batou and Togusa to finish that cool looking stand).
Sam
Hmm, I have seen the *small* pix of the ones ur talking bout Leposeur, and I kinda amused myself thinking ' they look really squat and short', but thats kinda how they are anyway in the manga ! LOL. I think those came out first actually! =) Those ones Myriad has pointed to are the ones I ordered, and I know they are at home*my other home* but have to wait to find out which ones came through.. damn, might have to do tradesies with someone to 'catch em all ' heheh Eriku, that has to be the BEST idea I have heard for a while! SOC Tach, or better, FUCHICOMA! oh that would be so cooll... and they could have an articulated motoko kinda like that little Evangelion comic figure Rei*that still hasn't come out yet ugh* that sits inside as a pilot, and can pose it with hatch open or close! What an awesome thought! Man, gotta stop this thinking bout things that wont happen *sigh* btw, I gots me on order a box set of the Japanese GITS SAC 1-16 with 2nd GIG, the second season, on DVD eps 1-4! I am so looking forward to this as I have only just like downloaded and watched up to ep 13. Now I better go do my gardening I had to do.... *wanders off...........
