Jawjaw Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 I think everyone is missing the point here...RT.com is advertising the sale of Macross Plus with the Big West copyright on it, when they stopped the sale of the toys from upon Plus a few years ago. This is a complete turn around from their prior position. The question is, what changed? I still don't think this is as big a deal as you guys are making it. True, Mac+ dvd's have BW's name on it but it has been for sale in the US for a long time. Mac+ toys are a completely different issue because there was more at stake and we don't know which side is at fault. Maybe Yamato just didn't want to pay HG roylaties or maybe HG was asking too much. Who knows. The bottom line for me is that I see nothing that has changed. There are still no toys being imported and no Mac0 dvd's. Until one of those things happens, I don't think anything else really matters. There has been promising news in the past but HG has shown no signs of changing their ways or giving up. Quote
Blaine23 Posted March 16, 2004 Posted March 16, 2004 I just think it's a shame that Robotech.com isn't selling the Macross Plus toys that Toycom put out a few years back... Oh waitaminute... they're the reason those toys never came out in the US. My bad. Quote

As for whether or not it's a big deal? I think both of you could be right. It's still too early to tell. If the Macross Plus DVD showing up in the Robotech.com store was the only shocker of the past couple months, then I'd be inclined to agree that it was nothing...at least until something else happened. However, to say nothing has changed is completely false. We now see DYRL? based toys being promoted domestically. That in itself is a very big deal, especially seeing as how HG themselves are releasing and promoting them. Perhaps the M+ DVD means nothing at all, but we cannot ignore the significance of the DYRL? superposables. Quote
