buddhafabio Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 just finished painting my first customized yamato 1/60. a total repaint of a brown vf-1a. and did my first transformation. is there any thing i can do to the paint job to make the paint on it more durable? feel free to use this thread for other customized toy questions Quote
scand Posted March 6, 2004 Posted March 6, 2004 There was a thread a couple of months ago. Where the person used several layers of clear coat in critical areas. It was a low-viz custom 1/60. I don't recommend clear coat outta the can I keep getting poor results. My last project yellowed pretty bad. Quote

I think Future (floor wax) is a good protectant. I've brushed some on a 1/55 tail section and tried to scratch the paint with my finger nail; it's seems pretty durable and is recommended by a couple of the customizers on here. If you don't like the glossy look the Future gives the parts, a dull coat can be applied over it. Hope this helps. Quote
