Dax415
Just wondering what Tamiya clear colors are used for? They look pretty cool and was wondering if anyone had any examples. Thx
Pat S
I was thinking of using this on the inside of a Mospeada face helmet to match the ones I bought from Jung. Here's a pic...http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2modproject/toys/toys1/11.JPG
gnollman
I use them over silver or gold for gems, or for shading canopies and windscreens, etc.... I tried to use it like an ink wash, but it didn't turn out too hot....
David Hingtgen
Very useful for light-up parts. I think about half of all Tamiya clear blue sales go to us Star Trek modelers who light-up the warp nacelles and deflector dishes. And clear red for impulse engines and ramscoops. Grayson72
I use my clear Tamiya paints for the wing lights and landing lights on my valks. After I paint the part I paint chrome silver on the back of that, it gives a more lens looking effect.
007-vf1
I use mine for cockpit screens and panels and lighting effects Here's the main panel on the 1/72 Queadlunn-R. there's very little choice left to get an effect like this one..
Jung
A less conventional method for clear paints is to add a bit to regular opague paints, this gives it a glowing effect. I know famous Japanese modeller Max Watanabe adds some clear blue to his flat white.
