I use them over silver or gold for gems, or for shading canopies and windscreens, etc....

I tried to use it like an ink wash, but it didn't turn out too hot....

Very useful for light-up parts. I think about half of all Tamiya clear blue sales go to us Star Trek modelers who light-up the warp nacelles and deflector dishes. :)

And clear red for impulse engines and ramscoops. :)

I use my clear Tamiya paints for the wing lights and landing lights on my valks. After I paint the part I paint chrome silver on the back of that, it gives a more lens looking effect.

I use mine for cockpit screens and panels and lighting effects

Here's the main panel on the 1/72 Queadlunn-R. there's very little choice left to get an effect like this one..

A less conventional method for clear paints is to add a bit to regular opague paints, this gives it a glowing effect. I know famous Japanese modeller Max Watanabe adds some clear blue to his flat white.
