Blaine23 Posted March 3, 2004 Posted March 3, 2004 hehe after comparing spidey to my yamato 1/48 man the 1/48 was so small Yup... the only thing kicking Giant Spidey's ass on size is my Iron Giant fig... luckily I don't have any Shogun Warriors on the shelf, though. Still, Spidey's head and shoulders taller than Jack from Nightmare before Xmas, my 15" Robocop, and both car and lion Voltron. It's so cool to have a toy that big with such a cool sculpt. Usually giant toys were so... boxy. Quote

Yeah, I meant to take a pic last night when I stuck him up there... but the puppy came by and demanded all my attention. As for which Iron Giant... here's one on eBay. It's an awesome toy, great articulation, voice chip, etc... totally recommend it. Made by Trendmasters. I bought off the clearance rack for $15... I hate the way IG was marketed and had a bad box office, but at least I got a great deal. I've seen loose and incomplete versions of this toy sell for $150. I'd sell it, but I love it too much. Angel's Fury Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 (edited) Damn I gotta get me one of those.  Do you guys think they'll make A few X-men. I'd love to see a nightcrawler or even wolverine. Wolverine with retractable claws? Obviously not for kids, but good for adults. Edited March 4, 2004 by Angel's Fury Quote

EXO Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 You know after handling Spiderzilla, I'm not so sure 1/48 YF-19 is a bad idea... I'm gonna join the I want all my valks in 1/48 scale camp from now on. Nice collection Blaine! Quote
Blaine23 Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 See how he dwarfs all the other spidey-kin... That's a beautiful collection you got there Blaine How come you don't have a matrix sentinel? Thanks... actually that's not all of the collection, I used to have about 4 more shelves... it's a new house and my office is the last room that needs to be painted (desperately), so I didn't set up my toys very nicely this time. It's a bit of a jumble. Mainly I took down the majority of my 12" Star Wars (I left Boba and Chewie on the shelves, you can see) and most of my Famous Covers & Megos (except for Spidey). As for the Matrix sentinel... I'm not a huge fan of the design. I love the sheer massive-ness of it... but I'm also not a big McFarlane fan. The plastic is too bendy and the articulation is nil. But I'll admit their paint and sculpt detail rock the house... just not enough for me to buy any of it. Anyways... I would kill to see ToyBiz do more like this new Spidey... it's a damn impressive display piece. I fell like he commands more attention now than anything else on the shelf... even if he costs so much less. Quote

Pat S Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 (edited) This thing is awesome, my girlfriend wanted one too because she didn't like what I was doing with it We had it in a bunch of funny poses already, great toy for the price. Hope they make a Black Costume version, and Venom and Carnage. Edited March 4, 2004 by Pat S Quote

What if I would have said I wanted a 1/48 VF-1 valkyrie 5 yrs ago, what would you call it? If I said I wanted a 18" Spiderman with 67 points of articulation what would you call it. Yeah I would have called it dreaming too... Edited March 4, 2004 by >EXO< Quote
Limbo Posted March 4, 2004 Author Posted March 4, 2004 Yeah, but dreams have a price... and my dreams are costing a lot lately... How much an 18" yammie would cost? I would shoot around 300 and up. Quote

Awesome... I'm gonna have to make a huge web for mine. Quote
Pat S Posted March 4, 2004 Posted March 4, 2004 (edited) That's about 75% of the twist ties that came with the box. I don't think they needed even one, they could have just put clear plastic around him to keep him in the center of the box. Yep, that's an Infocus X1 projecting onto a homemade screen which I still need to hang somewhere. It's the only way to watch downloaded episodes of Macross Zero! I surf with it and play games too Check it out... http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2modproject/temp/prj1.jpg http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2modproject/temp/prj2.jpg http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2modproject/temp/prj3.jpg http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2modproject/temp/prj4.jpg I put up some more pics of Spidey, don't look at the last one though, he's giving an inappropriate gesture. http://www.mrtwo.net/mr2modproject/toys/sp...n/spiderman.htm Edited March 4, 2004 by Pat S Quote

Mechwarrior Posted March 5, 2004 Posted March 5, 2004 Could care less about SpiderMan, but you guys talked me into it. Its actually pretty cool and for 21 bucks at Walmart (got mine last night) you can't beat the price. And there are alot of tie ties to take off, but a good idea to use them as web shooters is actually pretty kewl, so thanx for the info. Quote

SuperOstrich Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 The Spidey's not bad looking, but those horrible thight joints. Jeez! Quote
Pat S Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 The toy is actually made for the Spiderman 2 movie, so I guess there won't be a black costume or venom/carnage. Dang. Quote
wolfx Posted April 4, 2004 Posted April 4, 2004 SIGH! If only Macross toys were these cheap and commercialised.... I'm definately getting the Spidey. In fact, I'd get it even if it was USD100. Its crazy US20 ......w00ts!! Quote
