Anubis Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 (edited) Ooh a 1/60th comparison mockup. Actually that's a Hasegawa. I wonder if that is a real side-by-side. It looks great! Edited February 27, 2004 by Anubis
GRAND CANNON Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 INDEED!!! Nice pics there!! Me-thinks this will be very hard to pass by in waiting for Fodder verison!!
1 VF-1 2NV Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Ooh a 1/60th comparison mockup. Is that vf-1s a model or the yammie 1/60?
GRAND CANNON Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 (edited) Well, here's the pic from a long long time ago, but I'm sure Graham will have actual product comparison photos.....wink-wink, nudge-nudge The -1S' shoulder is just about at or under the kneecap where the -1S above looks taller. The pic above --- photochopped? Edited February 27, 2004 by GRAND CANNON
Angel's Fury Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 I didn't know the Q-Rau could turn out so big!
Anubis Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 I don't know, we can't say for sure what the final size is until we see some definitive size comparison photos in the review. Or some measurements. Surely at least a real height is not classified info?
Anubis Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 HLJ has the Q-rau marked "Just In"! Also the GBP too? What about the delay? May be an error or jumped the gun being the end of the month. They've done that before. Any one ordering from HLJ see a change in status for either? Both of my orders are with Tam.
GRAND CANNON Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Found this link from an old Twin Moons post for a size comparison. It appears to have been adjusted by MW member ewilen. (BTW, I like the ability to "click and drag" them around the chart...nice touch!!) Size Comparisons

drifand Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 First guess: Unstable. Second guess: Lack of poseability.
bandit29 Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 (edited) First guess: Unstable.Second guess: Lack of poseability. Ya that could be it. Just by looking at the pics you can tell that its not very posable. Stability? Could be. It seemed to be standing on its own in the wonderfest pics. Edited February 27, 2004 by dejr8bud
VF-1Guy Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 First guess: Unstable.Second guess: Lack of poseability. Third Guess: Too big Fourth Guess: Too heavy to get fun poses I admire Yamato for doing this in scale, but I think some people may be a little shocked at just how big it is going to be. I think the box may be the biggest yet. I also think the size and weight are going to have an effect on the ability to get dymanic poses.
Sumdumgai Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Wouldn't it be ironic if the joints were too tight?
柿崎速雄 Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 I feel angry with this product don't worth 12800 YEN to buy it 1. not much action can do, seem just a still figure at all~ although it have movable part at foot and arms, but nothing can do with this.... 2. really nothing can do with the miria 639 figure, if she don't stand in the suit, she is nothing~!! even can't stand alone!! her posture just like taking a sunlight bath..... THERE IS NO POINT TO MAKE A SEPERATE FIGURE IF IT CAN'T DO ANYTHING~!!!! 3. no sticker come with, really no need to detail up? I don't think so~!! 12800 YEN not a CHEAP PRICE this grade of product don't worth this grade of price half price is just resonable~!!!!!!!!!
VF-1Guy Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Thanks for the quick review. I would have beeen nice of the pilot figure's feet were made flat so that she could stand. The post would be odd, but it would still be something. I have a one of my 1/48 pilots sitting on my shelf since they are complete little figures that look nice sitting on the edge of the stand. I agree about the decals too. A few caution looking symbols and some Meltran writing would look really nice. Thank you for the review!
Anubis Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 (edited) It was a given the Q-rau wasn't going to be SUPER posable. Look at it in the show, it's agility was it's thursters. At least the arms are as posable as it should be. At least Millia's sculpt looks very good. Especially for a fixed figure to go inside the actual unit. Leaps ahead of what we got for the 1/48's. So is the Q-rau itself stable? No problems with joints? BTW, that pic is quite funny. Like she's falling out the engine. Seriously, would the Zentradi have bothered with excessive markings. There are no lettering/details on the Q-rau anyway outside of the regular paint job in the movie anyway Edited February 27, 2004 by Anubis
ZorClone Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 this thing so should have come with a display stand that would allow for rotational poses...

Blaine23 Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 BTW, that pic is quite funny. Like she's falling out the engine. Actually, it looked to me like the mecha had pooped out a Millia. Or maybe that was just my impression based on his disappointment with the Q-Rau.
Vostok 7 Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 I'm still getting one. Mmmm millia in a flight suit. Vostok 7
VF-1Guy Posted February 27, 2004 Posted February 27, 2004 Seriously, would the Zentradi have bothered with excessive markings. There are no lettering/details on the Q-rau anyway outside of the regular paint job in the movie anyway In general isn't the same true for all of the mecha in the movie. Why whouldn't the Zentradi have markings on their mechs? Don't they need unit numbers or some way to organize their millions of troops? Don't they need markings for the non-automated maintenance (there is always going to be some)?
