the white drew carey Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Review I especially like how OneZero (SM's Admin and founder) sacrifices himself to any potential "recast anxiety". Quote
the white drew carey Posted February 25, 2004 Author Posted February 25, 2004 Is this guy actually our very own Valkyrie? Some of those pics look familiar... Quote
bsu legato Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Is the similar to the recast that Monsters In Motion is/was offering? Quote
the white drew carey Posted February 25, 2004 Author Posted February 25, 2004 Is the similar to the recast that Monsters In Motion is/was offering? Nah. If this guy isn't Valkyrie himself, it's probably someone who bought one of his recasts. The MiM kit has a lot less parts. I'm not sure what it's recast from. Quote
bsu legato Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 The MiM kit has a lot less parts. I'm not sure what it's recast from. Oh poo. I'll have to keep my eyes open if and when Valkyrie offers more of his recasts then. Did anybody here ever break down and order that MiM kit? Quote
the white drew carey Posted February 25, 2004 Author Posted February 25, 2004 Not to my knowledge. I wonder if Valkyrie is going to do some more of the VF-4's. I finally have money to spend. Quote
Eternal_D Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Club-M 1/72 VF-4 Fighter recast - $50 Had to throw it in Valk's sale...here. Quote
bsu legato Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 And as it turns out, WhiteDrew has failed us in his Starshipmodeler reportings. Would you care to explain how you missed this gem? http://www.starshipmodeler.org/gallery8/db_battlepod.htm Quote
Chronocidal Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 (edited) Wait, isn't that the VF-4 LTSO was working on a while back? Edit: Yep, I thought I recognized those pics.. especially that stand. VF-4 Build-up (REVISITED), my first resin adventure Edited February 25, 2004 by Chronocidal Quote
Valkyrie Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 Is the similar to the recast that Monsters In Motion is/was offering? Nah. If this guy isn't Valkyrie himself, it's probably someone who bought one of his recasts. The MiM kit has a lot less parts. I'm not sure what it's recast from. Of course it wasn't me. I'd have given mylelf a MUCH better review than that! J/K It looks to me as if our own Less Than Super Ostrich did the write-up. That totally caught me by surprise. And I'd say it's a pretty fair review. So thanks, LTSO I have not seen a MiM kit, but I'm under the impression that it's a resin recast of the Retpuu 1/72 vinyl kit. I was never terribly impressed with the original kit, but I'd still like to see a review of the MiM recast. And yes, my recasts are still available. PM me if you'd like to get one. Quote
bsu legato Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 And yes, my recasts are still available. PM me if you'd like to get one. Do you think those molds of yours have a few more months of life left in them? I'm up to my eyeballs in bills right now, and it wouldn't be until April at the earliest before I should think about buying more models. Quote
Less than Super Ostrich Posted February 25, 2004 Posted February 25, 2004 (edited) It was me. thanks to valkyrie for the great kit. I'm just a rookie at this, and I didn't find the kit too difficult. John Lester asked me to do the review. You guys should contribute some of your stuff to SSM as well. Its a great group of guys over there. Valk and I know many of them through this local club we belong to. Edited February 25, 2004 by Less than Super Ostrich Quote

I still can't figure out how it stays in place. Quote
