Pat S Posted February 22, 2004 Posted February 22, 2004 Hey all, After this auction get out of hand, I decided to try and make my own stasis tube. http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...MEBBI%3AIT&rd=1 I already have a vinyl Facehugger After searching for hours on google, I didn't really turn up much info on what to use for the glass. I was thinking of converting a fish tank, but the closest I came was this one... http://www.customaquarium.com/tabletop.htm Also, the top. I'm not sure what to use here either. I could use aluminum and bend and cut, but that would be quite a bit of work, and I'd have to probably buy some new tools. I just e-mailed Frank Cerney to find out what he used. Check out his custom tubes here... http://www.hobbymatrix.com/props/aliens/stasis.html You guys/girls got any thoughts? Quote
Goth Kitty 22 Posted February 22, 2004 Posted February 22, 2004 http://www.lightechindustries.com/main.html Scroll to the bottom. The display case is not waterproof however. Quote
Pat S Posted February 22, 2004 Author Posted February 22, 2004 Better size. Price is high ($350) for the whole thing, and like you said it's not waterproof. Maybe I can ask them for dimensions, and if they'll sell just the glass. I'll e-mail them, thanks. Quote
Mechamaniac Posted February 22, 2004 Posted February 22, 2004 That would be cool if you could maybe spray paint a light dusting of a conductive paint over it, and then have a switch that throws some voltage out into the water causing the facehugger to jump whenever an unsuspecting friend came near it. Pat S Posted February 22, 2004 Author Posted February 22, 2004 What the heck?!!! Is that possible? I would totally go for something like that. Quote
Eternal_D Posted February 22, 2004 Posted February 22, 2004 Acrylic Cylinders I was gonig to suggest the same thing. most if not all fish tanks now are being made with this(well at least in china) and they look damn good. Quote
Pat S Posted February 23, 2004 Author Posted February 23, 2004 Thanks guys, I'll watch the scenes in the movie again, make some measurements, and then get a quote for one of those cylinders. Quote
