Khyron Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 I won this auction the other day and already recieved it (so this is not something someone to bid on so it does not go in the auctions thread). Considering that Bandai will probably never reissue this one, I figured I might as well get the old version. The only thing that I can tell it is missing is the little Minmay figure. It has the cockpit parts, small missles and all the armor pieces. The box is also pretty nice. What is the average going price for these (no it is not for sale)? Did I get a good price or did I spend too much? Quote
treatment Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 (edited) no dings or yellowing and stuff? then yeah, that was a nice $150. wait. Why is the arm-decal in red-stripes instead of black? Edited February 19, 2004 by treatment Quote
Deadzone Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 Yeah, my sister has one and the stripes are black. Those almost look like arms from the Transformer Jetfire. What's going on? Quote
nemesis120 Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 If I had to guess, I'd say broken arms. And the cockpit was painted over. Quote
VF-19 Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 If I had to guess, I'd say broken arms. And the cockpit was painted over. Not nessiccarily. It may look like it's painted over, but it may either be the heat sheild in place or it's just the camera angle. But yah, those arms are a tad odd... Quote
Mechafan Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 Yeah, my sister has one and the stripes are black. Those almost look like arms from the Transformer Jetfire. What's going on? That is what is looks like to me too. Looks like this has been modified and does not have all the original parts. Quote
Graham Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 $150 is a very good price for a Bandai 1/55 Strike Valk with box and all accessories, even if it is yellowed. However, as others have mentioned, this one has been modified and the forearms are either no longer the original parts or they have been repainted. Without examining the toy in person or seeing some close-up photos, it's difficult to tell what else may have been replaced or modified. Still, $150 is not too bad even just for the FAST packs Graham Quote
Khyron Posted February 19, 2004 Author Posted February 19, 2004 It may look like it's painted over, but it may either be the heat sheild in place or it's just the camera angle. Yes it is the shield in place. The transparent cockpit is in the box. Quote
TheLoneWolf Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 Am I the only one who's noticed that most of the people who ask whether they got a good deal on e-bay usually did get a good deal? Looking at e-bay's past auctions? Nahhh. Bragging rights? Nahhh. Khyron, I'm not singling you out or anything. Just something I've noticed for the past 3 years. Quote
kanata67 Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 at least they are nice and white jetfire arms. that was $150 buy it now? not bad at all, especially as you can use arms from a re-issue to make it original in appearence Quote
BoBe-Patt Posted February 19, 2004 Posted February 19, 2004 OMG!! Now how did I miss this auction? Damn!! I could've totally completed my strike valk with this auction. oh well, maybe next time. Good job! Quote
