EyE CaNdY Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 Sorry guys if this is something previously discussed, but I was wondering which is faster? VF-1 or the Alpha? VF-1 WITHOUT fastpack that is....

JB0 Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 (edited) Don't have any Robotech stats, but In Macross, a VF-1 at 10,000 meters can do Mach 2.71. a VF-1 at 30,000 meters can do mach 3.87. In MOSPEADA, a Legioss can do mach 2.3 at 18,000 meters. And I should point out that this really isn't a Macross question. More of a Robotech one. And Robotech goes in "other sci-fi and anime." Göönk Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 (edited) in space I think there is no faser one, because untill you stop engines, the aircraft will accelerate (untill there is no more combustible!) so theorical maximum speed depends on the amount of combustible and mass. The lightest, the more you accelerate. Edited February 15, 2004 by Göönk
flippant_remark Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 To be more exact, wouldn't acceleration depend on the thrust to mass ratio? Also there is a practicle obsticle to infinite velocity in space. As you approach light speed the light traveling towards you would be squished into gamma radiation with enough energy to vaporise any craft you might be traveling in. Be it VF1 or Aplha
Göönk Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 To be more exact, wouldn't acceleration depend on the thrust to mass ratio? yes, that's what teacher said. So, in space, maybe we can wonder WHICH ACCELERATE MORE The Alpha is lighter than the VF1 (I suppose, because it's smaller)
EXO Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 This also would count as a VS. thread. Which is a no-no in MW.... Just trying to inform....
