Hikuro Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 The guys old but hey, he's got a voice for anime and he knows it since he's had the voice of roy for over 20 years, that's something to be proud of that when he dies, pretty much his character will never appear again...but than again, after Zero, I doubt you'll EVER see Roy Focker again. Göönk Posted February 14, 2004 Author Posted February 14, 2004 yeah, Roy definitly needs a mature male voice. It's perfect voice I think. Quote
Southcross Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 (edited) Look at who is playing Roy's voicehttp://www.animenfo.com/animeseiyuu,19,xdf...miya_akira.html He surely looks funny. Egads! :hide behind chair: but... wait... Isn't Roy in Macross Zero... supposed to be younger? not older? on an OT note... why do they list his blood type?? just in case I want to kidnap him and steal his blood or something?? lol.. ignore me, its past my bedtime Edited February 14, 2004 by Southcross Quote
Macross_Fanboy Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 Akira Kamiya has a kick ass voice, it's all rough and aged unlike Max, Kakizaki and Hikaru's voices. Quote
treatment Posted February 14, 2004 Posted February 14, 2004 Look at who is playing Roy's voicehttp://www.animenfo.com/animeseiyuu,19,xdf...miya_akira.html He surely looks funny. Fwiw, he's the same Roy Focker from 20 years ago in Macross-TV and DYRL. He's old as dirt now, but he's still one of the premiere and best-known anime-vocals. He did tons of vocals in many of the famous anime-shows since the 80's besides being THE ROY FOCKER. Quote
Göönk Posted February 15, 2004 Author Posted February 15, 2004 (edited) he's the same than 20 years ago !!!!!! amazing. He is probably the only one. Yes, now that's I think about it, the voice is the same than in DYRL. He was only 40 years old at that time ! Edited February 15, 2004 by Göönk Quote
ewilen Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 I don't know why they list his blood type but it seems that in Japan it's always (almost always?) included as a "vital statistic" for people. If they list a woman's measurements, they also have the blood type. I'll bet they do it for baseball players along with height, weight, bats and throws. Quote
Mechamaniac Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 According to that, he was the voice of Focker in the original series as well. That's cool. Quote
Final Vegeta Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 I don't remember the exact site where I took these infos, but here they are: The Japanese fascination with blood type is said to date back to a 1916 Japanese medical report that stated that blood type was an influence on one's personality. It's said that the report determined that type A blood reflected a mild-mannered, intellectual personality while a B type was typical of an aggressive, rambunctious personality. Perhaps not coincidentally, type A is the most common blood type among Japanese natives. Although personality characteristics determined by blood type has no more scientific basis than personality determined by astrological sign, Japanese superstition does still place weight on blood type as a signifier of character. In an effort to give anime characters more depth of characterization, may creators will imbue characters with not only an age, hobby, birth date, measurements, weight, hair and eye color, but also a blood type. Blood type compatibility even comes up occasionally in anime. Kodomo no Omocha occasionally uses blood type to help distinguish personality, and Gainax's Ebichu the hamster television shorts include a joke about blood type compatibility between lovers. According to Japanese supposition: Type A personality is calm, studious and disciplined; outwardly serious and hesitant to express emotion. Type B personality is exuberant and cheerful, active and inclined toward dabbling in many areas, although not focusing too heavily on any single thing. Type O personalities are peaceful and ambivalent, strong-willed, but always willing to be flexible and friendly. Type AB personalities are delicate and considerate to others, but strict and serious with themselves. Quote
Southcross Posted February 15, 2004 Posted February 15, 2004 Final, thanks for the info... very interesting read Now what happens if your blood type is "caffine"?? or "beer"? I stopped the blood transfusions a long time ago Quote
