DYRL DVDs video quality question

I was wondering if anyone here with either the R2 DVD or the bootleg from valkyrie-exchange can tell me what the video quality is like for these discs. Are either of them DVD-9 (dual layer) discs? Is this bootleg just a copy of the R2 perfect disc + subs - region or are there differences?

I have the Anime Cartoon version and it's a DVD-5 (single layer) and the compression is pretty bad.

I have the fx. it;s pretty good. ti;s a dvd 9.

I think the R2 is a DVD-9, but don't quote me on that. It has extremely good video quality, with no rainbows and even the "cigarette burns" apparently edited out.

Do you guys know if the official R2 DVD has 5.1 Audio? My copy (FX version) only has 2.0 Dolby Digital, but (as Ali Sama stated) the video is as good as it gets.

I have R2 release,Yes it have only 2.0 DD -448kbs.

Video quality is good in compare with other Macross DVD releases (M+, M7), but video encoded not in 24P die weird lag effect on telecine transfer.
