sbarrett4 Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 Does anyone have a good way to remove glue from plastic? I need to "unglue" some parts that were never meant to be permanently attached. Is there anything that they can soak in that loosens old glue? Quote
Grayson72 Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 I think your best bet would be to carefully cut them apart. The reason being is that the glue is designed to chemically melt the plastic together. If you glued it really well you essentally now have one piece of plastic. Quote
EXO Posted February 10, 2004 Posted February 10, 2004 I used Goo Gone to take off the canopy off the 1/48. It looked like it was melted shut but after hours of persistance I had a pretty nice seperation I used an exacto kniife to scrape away some of the plasic to get the liquid in further. Quote
Spiff Posted February 13, 2004 Posted February 13, 2004 If I remember correctly at hobby shops you can get a glue solvent. I dont remeber what the details of how exactly it works or its use, but I know it exists Quote
