An easy way to get an idea of current market prices for almost any Macross (or other Japanese) collectible....

1) Start with the YJA closed auctions search:

https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/closedsearch/closedsearch?p=yf-21&aq=-1&oq=&ei=UTF-8&slider=0&auccat=0

2) In the search field enter what you are looking for....you may need to find out the Japanese words for some things...but for most Macross valks just use something like "1/55 VF-1J"...or get fancier by adding "マクロス"...the more specific you get, the more filtered the results....add words such as Bandai バンダイ, Takatoku タカトク, or Yamato やまと for searching specific brands....

3) Go through the results and select at least a month or two of past sales/closed auctions.....note the final auction sale amount, add them up and divide that number by the number you are using for your sample......that will give you the average final auction value

4) Add about 10% to the final auction value average for proxy fees and local shipping....then add an amount based on the item for international shipping fee to your door...this will get you the price anyone looking for your item can expect to pay "on average" for the item if they were to buy it themselves directly from Japan via YJA......

****note that this price is usually lower than what you would pay at a shop like Mandarake....the reason is because Mandarake needs to make a profit so they low-ball what they pay customers bringing in their collectibles for sale....basically just like a pawn shop does....so Mandarake prices are not really reflective of true open market prices........with that said, if you paid MSRP or less for an item, then selling it at "Mandarake prices" will most of the time mean you will end up selling for much more than what you originally paid for the item***

Other things to consider are the actual condition of the item, box, status of accessories, original paperwork and decals, and anything else that originally may have been included with the item you are trying to determine value.

In my experience, missing or damaged boxes take away up to 30% or more of the "average value".  Missing accessories and anything else can remove about 10% for each item missing.  Anything broken will remove 30-50% or more depending on how badly or how important the broken part is to the overall functionality of the collectible.  There are so many other factors also involved that will ultimately determine the value of your item.  It will ultimately go down to how much you are willing to "let it go" for and how much your buyer is willing to splurge on it.

In short, if you can determine the "average" value of your item, you will be better equipped to make a deal that will be fair to both you and your buyer and sell quickly.

Good Luck!

Current rate on an Arcadia YF-19?  (first release)  (domestically, I'm not selling it to Japan)

Isn't there only 1 release of Arcadia's YF-19?

I know Yamato had at least 2 releases of the YF-19.

No, they sold it twice Shizuka.

Avg for used/new since Jan 2019...26736 JPY.......add 10% for proxy fees + domestic shipping to your neck of the woods....so about 300-350 USD if you wanted to sell it domestically for around what it would cost someone to just buy it directly from Japan these days

I’m looking to part with my measly collection and would rather “keep it in the family” by selling here to those that appreciate it. I’ve got the following:

Popbox/Toynami Hikaru figure

Popbox/Toynami Hikaru SDCC Flight Suit Exclusive (lights up)

Yamato 1/48 Hikaru VF-1A

Yamato 1/48 Super Strike parts

Yamato ‘Movie Color’ display stand

I have already done the decal work and most of the panel lining in pencil. So a new owner could accept them, remove them, or cover them up. Comments and pictures can be seen here and in subsequent posts:

The Hikaru figures I presume are worth no more than what I paid.

Just the pre-stickered/mostly detailed Valk is my sticking point.

BTW, I have all the original boxes, packaging, etc. Not looking to fleece anyone here, just get an idea of value here.

Also, search my user name to see the threads I’ve commented on about all these I’ve collected.

Thanks

Ah, so I see. Thanks for the heads-up on that. But is the Arcadia one 1/48 compatible?

If you can get this lot for around 65.00 to 95.00 per item then you have scored yourself a really great deal. The V.1 is not that of a display piece.

Selling in bulk is always a disadvantage to those who want to get rid of a lot of items at once.

Good Luck.

Thank you NightmareB4macross and Bolt for your feedback!

I am buying only the one on the list, not the vf-11b, 19, 21, etc. ;)

The price I got is 67 USD/each shipping included, so based on your comments I understand that it is a pretty good deal! :D

I would love to have some Yamatos V2 or Arcadia but at the moment they are just to expensive for me. Some day ;)

Thank you!

PS: Sorry I have no idea how to resize the pictures

The boxes look nice. What condition are these advertised as?

How many transformations, how loose are the joints, etc.?

All excellent questions. Also ask if anything is missing, broken, or modified. Prices for these are all over the place ranges are from MIB 95.00 to 325.00. Crazy but true.

Posted (edited)

I understand that it has been never transformed, but I have no idea if it is true or not.

Nothing broken/modified.

The price is:

Max and Miria: 195usd/each shipping included

VF 1A Mass prod. and Max: 90usd/each shipping included

So is it good?

These are the only "inside the box" pictures available

Different color from the regular released VF-1A CF.

Jenius - correct me if I am wrong but is it true that these could not accept the leg FAST pack parts?

Magia - those are great prices! Congratulations!

Correct, no fast packs and these had the removable forearm pieces because the gun handle did not yet recess.

Thanks Jenius.

I hope Magia can share is good fortune with you.

Thank you all for your responses and help!

I am really happy that I got good prices :) at the beginning I was a reluctant about it, but the 1/48s have just arrived and all is good! I hope the 1/60 will arrive too! I am getting greedy now, but because I was doubting in buying the VFs due the low prices and now I have lost a: 1/60 VF19 (115USD), 1/48 VF1S Roy weathering special (170USD), 1/48 VF1J super strike stealth(170USD), 1/48 VF1A low visibility (170USD), 1/48 VF1A Kakisakki (115USD), and the cherry of the cake 3 1/48 super packs (regular one, low visibility and black) at 60USD each!!! :( :(

I found these VFs in Europe. Is someone someone that unfortunately due economical reasons needed to sell his collection. But because I do not know the person and prices were unusually cheap I though it was a scam.

If any of you are interested in some of the VF11, 19, 21 or VF1A mass production for this particular occasion I could be you proxy (for free :)). However, I am have no idea how much the shipping to USA it will cost.

Once gain, thank you all for your help and If I found more valks at good prices I will let you know.

Hi everyone,

Can anyone give me an estimate for these toys:

1/60 Bandai renewal versions:

  • VF-25F + Tornado parts (alto)
  • VF-25S + Armored parts (the biggest and meanest! I paid almost $450 back in the days in Japan to get this..)
  • RVF-25 + super parts and ghosts set
  • YF-29 Durendal or sth + super parts
  • VF-27 Lucifer with super parts included

never ever transformed except for Alto's one but only up to Gerwalk mode. Complete, mint condition, original boxes.

1/60 Yamato

  • VF-0 with ghost - regular grey version (not the yellow strike)
  • SV-51 dark grey version

both fully transformed once, no broken parts, complete, with box

thanks

Sad to say, no. The only way to do if you don't want to buy the item after the PO went live or after the item got released is to stay all night during the preorder window in the hopes that your order gets processed and accepted. Beyond that, you just need to check-in from time to time and see if they're going to open up for more orders.

Just saw a sold item on ebay: Yamato VF-1S super strike 1/60 went for 650 USD.

Is that the going price for these old yamato V2?

Wow. I will sell mine if someone willing to pay that much.
