I think stuff like that is money laundering... You see some really crazy stuff in sold items in eBay..

Interesting. Not that I am trying to learn and do this, but I wonder how does this works, they will have to pay eBay a big cut for the money.

Crazy stuff indeed.

I would suppose it would work something like this:

1. 2 parties are doing shady business to get money.

2. Both know they have to "hide" this somehow.

3. They devise the means to "sell" (one the seller the other the buyer) items on Ebay for a ridiculous price. But, not enough to get an eye on how much versus cost of retail or "collector" price as the market increases its value.

4. Item is sold

5. Money (this is a possible unknown) is transferred through PayPal in smallish amount. Possibly multiple sales of small nature per day. Check sellers amount of feedback as well as buyer- if they are the same (same buyer over and over or enough to show a pattern) or thier is a way to deduce that the location of the buyer(s) are consistently in the same area, that would be suspicious.

6. If the actual money deposited are in line with the amount of sales it would throw off legal eyes. Its safer to lose a % of money to PayPal- One, if the money the criminals are getting is through easy illegal means and - Two, it keeps them free.

Just my 2 cents on if I was doing shady stuff. That's why I enjoy my line of work.

Plus you can actually buy/sell things at near-cost, or fake the entire transactions between a number of fake accounts to drum up a fictitious positive reputation for a seller.

Indeed. Its crazy to see 19876 feedback for an account that has existed since 2016 or something of that nature. I had a transaction go south for a VF-31S for 300.00 shipping a few months back. Numerous 1 statement positives and a growing handful of descriptive negatives. To include mine.

Just saw a sold item on ebay: Yamato VF-1S super strike 1/60 went for 650 USD.

Is that the going price for these old yamato V2?

Wow. I will sell mine if someone willing to pay that much.

Someone confused that with the DX?

Hello,

Looking to sell my 1/60 VF-1's.

I have the boxes and accessories for all of them.

Debating on selling as a set or as singles, with our without the stands, but will include the little figures with their respective planes and partners.

I guess I would like to know the price of the sets (will include stands) and as singles.

Thanks for your input!

I know they're V2's. But are those Yamato or Arcadia releases? It would be helpful if you list what releases they are.

Oh woops, you are right, my bad.

During NY's sale a couple of months back, they were selling the Arcadia Max and Miria (non-PF version) for 15,000 yen each.

Hey all, my buddy's brother-in-law moved out of the country and left him a big box of N64 stuff. He didn't have space or a desire to keep it so he gave it to me. I have neither the space nor the desire to keep it so I'm thinking I should sell it. Here's what it looks like:

N64-and-Games-2.jpg

None of it is tested and I have no intention of hooking things up and testing it since I don't have enough time to live my life as it is. Any suggestions on value or what to do? I was thinking of throwing the system, loose rumble packs, and loose controller pack (whatever that is) up on ebay as one lot and then putting every other item up as a 99cent auction. My concern is that means lots of packing/shipping and I hardly have 20 small boxes lying around (ooh, maybe I should use the USPS small flat rate boxes... I'll have to grab one and see if it would work).

Any way, any suggestions?

The good news is that N64 games do fit inside the small USPS flat-rate boxes.

But if you don't have the time or desire to deal with 20+ sales, the best thing to do is to sell the system and accessories as one lot and all the games as a 2nd lot. Shipping them together in a single lot is going to be almost as bad as parting them out. Lots don't make as much money as individual sales, but since you didn't pay for these, it's all profit anyways.

Do the games all have their booklets, paperwork/flyers, and cardboard trays? If so, make sure to note that in your auction. Complete games will usually fetch around $20 minimum and higher depending on the game's demand/popularity. Even sold as a lot, you'll still make quite a bit of money.

edit: Oh yeah, I'd test out the N64 at the bare minimum. "Untested system" is slang for "probably broken" on eBay. N64 cartridges are pretty robust and easy to clean, so you shouldn't have to worry about those.

Hello everyone. I have put up my 1/48 Yamato VF-1J Hikaru w/ Super/Strike parts for sale on ebay but I do not really know if my price is fair. Can I get some guidance from the community on this, based on the condition, etc? It is located at - https://www.ebay.com/itm/202734192803

The relevant info is: 1/48 Yamato VF-1J Hikaru with box. Super/STrike parts set without box. the Valk box has wear, Valk has panel lining, there is paint damage on the underside (where it rested on a display stand), no box for the super/strike parts. Have it up for $400 incl. shipping.

Based on other 'sold' items I feel like I priced it correctly but I am not even sure. Thank you all for any guidance.

Ever since the XP-38 came out......errr, I mean the Bandai DX VF-1J, the 1/48 Yamatos just aren't in demand....only the "special" releases such as the woodland camo, Macross Chronicle releases, or stealth fetch higher prices...

Boxed, used and complete Yamato 1/48 VF-1J's are averaging about 100 bucks on YJA these days....

Additionally, most buyers tend to avoid buying items that have been "tampered" with....nothing against your panel lining job, but most collectors want items to be as close to "stock" as possible...customized items, unless it is of superior quality, tend to knock down the price...

As for the the super/strike parts....they go for around 60 bucks complete with box and decals, paperwork, etc on YJA....

Missing boxes and damaged or customized toys will reduce average market prices anywhere from 10-30% or more...

I would say a listing of 200 or best offer would maybe help you sell it quicker...or maybe try the MW for sale thread and save on the eBay fees.

Good Luck!

Hey, thank you for your response! I am a little disappointed, as that valuation is significantly less than I paid for everything... but I completely understand where it is based on the market. Thank you again!

It happens to almost every Macross PT toy...eventually.  The venerable VF-1 was overdue for a new version, the last one being the Yamato V2 1/60....so when the Bandai DX VF-1 was announced, it was only a matter of time before the old Yamato 1/48's market value started to decline once again...

yes, I know.

But V2 are to expensive for me. That is why I would love to know the price of these VF to know if it is a good deal or not.

I have the entire collection. Only the VE-1 and VT-1 are on display. Let me know if you want to get a "lot" price.

How much much is this worth?

Thanks in advance!

What do you think a fair price for a MISB DX-VF-1J (tiny tiny tear on one corner of the box) would be excluding shipping?
Have 2 and thinking of downsizing to one

A guy near me is selling a Yamato YF-21 for $350, no stand that I can see in the pictures, some stress marks on the legs, stickers not applied.  That seems a bit high to me, what should I offer instead?

Posted

Before proxy fees and shipping, a brand new YF-21 sold on YJA recently for about $250 (this is the one with fast packs and stand). A set with the fold drive/super parts box and the reissue when for closer to $275 (again, before shipping and proxy fees). There seems to be a dip in value since the DX announcement.

@CeramicDragon the VE-1 goes for between $55 and $75 before shipping. If you're out of Japan, $85 plus shipping is probably a good price.

@theraiden it looks like these have been tailing off recently as more DX birds become available. They're generally selling for a little less than $300USD in Japan before any associated fees which would still put them around $350USD. Since we don't have a DX announced after the 1S Hikaru there might be a long gap between releases which may make your sell quicker if not more lucrative.

Thanks @jenius, sounds like he is asking too much.  It is the non-FASTPack version, it does have the adapters for the yamato stand and to mount the fold booster and both gunpods though.  I will try and talk him down.
