Graham Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Just saw this posted by Conrad Pi on the Macross Fan Central Facebook group. New Bandai HG Macross kits to be announced at 6pm tomorrow (Friday 14th Feb). Quote

Bolt Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I'm betting Delta kits. Should be interesting. I'm hoping for an SV -303 Vivasvat. Quote
kajnrig Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Eh, despite my initial exuberant praise, I've actually been a bit cool on these. I think the YF-21 and variants is the only one I out and out love. The YF-19, YF-29, and... okay, maybe the VF-19 is fine, but it's an ugly design to begin with anyway, so... But yeah, the 19 and 29 both feature aesthetic choices that I find just kind of off-putting now. The 29 I thought would be an easier translation than the 19 or 21, but they still managed to flatten out a bunch of its appealing curves. In particular on the backpack turret... the old 1/100 fighter looks much better IMO. I'll immediately be right back in, though, if they announce a VF-1 and/or VF-0. Or dare I hope, a VF-4. Quote

Well, a VF-1 would be nice but for the lack of western distribution. I've just assumed they haven't issued any SDFM-era stuff due to not being able to maximize the monetization of them, but who knows. Snap-fits from that era, especially if they market a few color variants, or non-core versions like, say a Virgin Road VF-1D, or Alaska Base VF-1A, would allow Bandai to offer something that could attract some DX/HMR fans and would be more affordable than those releases of more niche variants which might languish more on a store shelf. I think the VF-1 is a going to happen, but not anytime soon. They do have zero on that list, so I could see a vf-0 . I still hope they keep doing plus and 7, so I can get a vf-11 and hopefully an armored version. Quote
Vifam7 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 If they do the VF-25, perhaps I can finally throw out the old VF100 series in my collection... 😆 Personally, I want VF-4, VF-31A, and VF-11MAXL Quote

KOG Water Dragon Posted February 13 Posted February 13 I wonder if the still available Wave 1/100 VF-1 kits would impact the chances of a VF-1 soon in Bandai's lineup. I'm still thinking about grabbing some of the Wave kits... I would really like to see VF-17/VF-171 stuff (yes I know about the Wave 1/72 VF-171 but A ) it's not in scale with the Bandai line and B ) it's fighter only and C ) it still doesn't cover the VF-17). A line of VF-11 covering different variants would be fun. A full line of VF-25 or VF-31 would be less exciting, but I'd still get them to be in-scale with other kits in this line. VF-0 line would also be fine. But I guess I'd enjoy some Macross II stuff most. Just... not Metal Siren. Oh, and I'd still really like a YF-30. Whether it's in this line, or a fighter from Hasegawa. Quote
sh9000 Posted February 13 Posted February 13 From the series pictured I'd buy: Queadluun-Rau and Nousjadeul-Ger from SDFM. VF-2JA, VF-XS, Metal Siren, and Mardook Mecha from Macross II. SV-51 and Destroid Cheyenne from Macross Zero. VF-171 and VF-27 from Macross Frontier. VF-31A and Sv-303 from Macross Delta. Quote

I was a little sad to do it, but also very relieved. I had the armored red stripe and sniper basic pack and they would just stand there looking pretty, but every now and then would fall over and it would be like a grenade exploded. They didn’t even fall to the floor, just kinda to the side or something and it was hamburger hill all over the room from a fall of an inch or less. 2 hours ago, KOG Water Dragon said: I wonder if the still available Wave 1/100 VF-1 kits would impact the chances of a VF-1 soon in Bandai's lineup. I'm still thinking about grabbing some of the Wave kits... I don’t know if that’s as much an impact as the fact that they’d be really limited on where they could sell from. Hlj is probably the only place in Japan selling them to outsiders and Bandai would have to jump through some licensing hoops to have over seashores stock them. I kinda get the feeling that they started with Plus due to American interests to test the waters though. But I don’t know if wave is really gonna be an issue as much as just another reason to hold up a little longer. Quote

Those are some interesting picks, I’m hoping that they do the non transforming mecha as well. Not sure if they will, but I do have hope, although I’m also still hoping for an hmr tomahawk…………… Quote
Chronocidal Posted February 13 Posted February 13 Don't forget that image has two more series covered up in the middle row. One of them is Seven, the other could be Plus, so I could see them doing a VF-11 for both. We know the other VF-19s are almost guaranteed, the molding divisions for the other versions are already present in the Fire Valk. Quote

I like the one from plus the most as a basic vf, but would absolutely spaz if there’s an armored one from 7🤞 Quote
sh9000 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Revised my list. Tomahawk, Phalanx, Regult Scout, Queadluun-Rau, and Nousjadeul-Ger from SDFM. VF-2JA, VF-XS, Metal Siren, and Mardook Mecha from Macross II. SV-51 and Desrtroid Cheyenne from Macross Zero. VF-171 and VF-27 from Macross Frontier. VF-31A and Sv-303 from Macross Delta. VF-11B, VA-3, Nousjadeul-Ger, Zentradi Battle Suit, and X-9 Ghost from Macross Plus. Sound Force, VF-19S, VF-19F, VF-11C, Armored VF-11C, VF-11D, VF-17S, VF-17D, VF-5000G, and Varauta Mecha from Macross 7. Also this was part of the original post from December. Quote

Graham Posted February 14 Author Posted February 14 Personally hoping for HG kits of: VF-19F/S/P VF-17D/S VF-2JA VF-11B/C SV-51 SV-303 Basically I want HG kits of designs we don't already have DX or HMR toys of. Kinda why the VF-2SS is not on my wish list. I'm also not listing or expecting HG kits of any of the non-transforming mecha, as so far this HG line has not gone there. Although, I'd definitely buy a DYRL N-Ger if they made it and also kits of the small and large Vajra. Although, I love the VF-31 and VF-31AX designs, I'm happy enough with the DX toys and feel model kits of these would need too much in the way of stickers/decals, with the exception of a VF-31A, but there's already a nice 1/100 VFG kit of that at least for Fighter & Gerwalk modes. I'm also not really interested in HG VF-1 or VF-0 kits. I'm happy enough with the DX and HMR toys for the VF-1 and the HMR toys for the VF-0. And the VF-1 model kit field is also well serviced already. Kinda on the fence about an HG VF-25. I absolutely love the design it's in my top 5 of favorite VFs. But again personally I'm happy with the DX toys. Quote

I kinda feel the same, but wouldn’t mind one. There’s definitely some room far a little surprise here and there. I do think that something like a Queadluun Rae is more likely than most of the destroids or other suits, but would like to see the armor from Plus and some of the M2 armors Quote
Chronocidal Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I'm gonna be the stick in the mud whose most wanted HG kit is for Bandai to go back and retool the YF-19 kit to the same standard as the Fire Valk, and make it not suck. Quote
Convectuoso Posted February 14 Posted February 14 (edited) It's from Delta. Confirmed https://x.com/HobbySite/status/1890325114971152798?t=D5_m6A2s-o5-hYe36t93Uw&s=19 Edited February 14 by Convectuoso Quote
jocax188723 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 Sounds like we're getting biggest hits, and not the more obscure VFs yet, if at all. The VF-31 makes perfect sense, the VF-31 has like 10 variants with only a little change in molding (A, CEFJS, AX x5), and that's prime P-Bandai territory. I'll still buy them all, but won't stop me hankering for a VF-4, 9, or 14. Quote

sh9000 Posted February 14 Posted February 14 I mainly got the VF-31J and several VF-31As in the VFG line for Fighter mode. I wonder if they will be close in size in Fighter mode to the HG line. Hopefully the HG line jumps around with releases for different series because I care less about Delta. Quote

Big s Posted February 15 Posted February 15 I might get a 31A, but I’d probably skip the rest from delta Quote
Duymon Posted February 15 Posted February 15 (edited) Very Meh I wanted more Mac7 like the Vf-11, VF-19 Emerald Force and the Vf-17 Edited February 15 by Duymon Quote

Hopefully not web exclusive Quote

SteveTheFish Posted February 15 Posted February 15 That's the Macross II logo! I want them to revamp their Valkyrie 2 model! Quote
Graham Posted February 15 Author Posted February 15 I'm really curious to see how Bandai handles the color separation of the parts in the VF-31. Quote

geck Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Some of the blue/white color separations are actually separately injected into one part! Two different colors of plastic on one piece...wild. There's a video of it out on Youtube somewhere...can't find it right now. Quote
