I’ll always remember Eraserhead. Oddly the making of was chaotically entertaining for that one. Twin Peaks was a series that was way different from anything else on TV at the time. He was very creative in his work

Dune (1984)

I know a lot of people don’t really like it, but when I was younger, it was something rather interesting to me and I still like it despite its flaws

I'm sure most here know David Lynch was approached to direct Return of the Jedi but turned it down for DUNE (1984). Man, that would have been interesting to see. Still, I liked DUNE (1984) for its David Lynch weirdness.

His ghost will never forgive me, but whatever else you say about the 1984 film his take on it has more or less informed the "look" of "Dune" ever since.

That dark dreary awkwardness set a tone that has stuck in the minds of everyone’s vision of what dune should look like

I also really love the weirdness of Lynch's Dune. I know Lynch himself disavowed the movie, but my wife and I found it super entertaining.

I was a bit braced for this particular celebrity passing - Lynch made a video a few months back describing his emphysema and explaining he couldn't go outside - but it still hits pretty hard. Pretty much every movie, TV show, and music video that he's done, I've really enjoyed.

I read the Alien 3 book treatment right before the movie came out, and I remember being disappointed leaving the theater, because so much was missing (capturing the Dragon scene in particular)
Decades later I watched the Alien 3 Assembly cut with the footage restored and it quickly went back into one of my favorite Alien movies. He was an amazing director.

I think a lot of it was that he did a lot of amazing drugs, but the results were usually very entertaining, even if the project was a failure

I thought Alien 3's director was David Fincher. :unknw:

Yeah, David Lynch should have embraced his DUNE. It has more character in style and acting than the remake. Plus it had a great soundtrack and was more meme worthy too.

I appreciate and enjoy the past and new DUNE films for the era of film art that they are.

I think he was confused with Alan R or maybe it was just a typo. but Alien 3 was weird enough that it seems like Lynch played a major part in its making.
