I think both Evolution and the HMR used flip out pegs in some cases, but the only surface that's even viable is the side of the arm, which is just another moving part, and doesn't make it stable in the least because everything just shifts on its joints.  Using magnets would be great, but all of the limbs are literally floating in space with no physical contact surfaces to secure them to.  The arms don't touch the underside of the backplate, the legs don't actually touch the arms, and everything is just a pile of floating limbs.

I like the design well enough, but every time I pull the HMR out, I spend the overwhelming majority of the time handling it simply trying to get the parts to line up.  Nothing attaches to anything.. it's not inaccurate, it's just the nature of the design.

Sold my evolution version years ago . But i was glad someone gave it a shot. I'm eager to have the HMR version as that line has been great for me.

Thanks all! Sounds like it's generally considered to be good, so I'll probably check out a few video reviews over the weekend, then decide for sure if I want to take the plunge. I should really just do it before I get stuck overpaying to resellers or secondhand toys... 🙃

So unless I am missing something,  this is the same as the original release.. except the Stand and different boxart correct?

Now I just need to determine if I want to double dip..

Seems that way, same as they did recently for the VF-4 reissue.
