Been waiting for this reissue. Glad I didn't bite on any of the ones I saw on the secondary market.

I'm surprised this one is getting a reissue. Didn't think the VF-2SS was a particularly good seller.

Would prefer a DX version that actually transforms well and isn't held together by friction and hope.

I too am glad that I didn’t buy one from Mandarake. I second the sentiments that I wish it were a DX, but maybe this is to test the waters, so to speak.

This IS a surprise. But i love the Ishtar stand and i'm happy to see more M2 love.

I only remember Silvie and Nexx... and even then I barely remember seeing Nexx' Valkyrie in the series. If anything, they need to come out with the Metal Siren.

Hmmm. Can't read much Japanese but it seems the 4 small drones won't be in the package.

Probably because nobody took them out of the box and to make room for the new stand. I'm probably wrong though.

From their Instagram, looks like it does include the squire drones.  Wish the included stand was a Trident plus though so that we could actually display the drones.

Probably because there were only two pilots with unique color schemes. Sylvie and Nex. 

All of the other named pilots had exactly the same color scheme.

There were at least green stripes and yellow on them, so one of the others could’ve been done.

While it never got released, even Evolution Toys had a green "White Ox" squadron in the works.

Yeah, but those aren't associated with any specific character. Nor are they particularly prominent in the OVA itself.

The green stripe model is the generic cannon fodder sometimes identified as the men's color scheme while the yellow stripe is identified as the women's color scheme and only really seen on the three lesser members of fairy platoon.

I wouldn't mind if Bandai made em. I'd buy it (dunno about anyone else though)...and I'd also get a VF-2JA if they ever made one

I will second that notion.  Make it DX scale and give us the SAP with the VF-2SS, heck, give us those missile pods with the VF-2JA.

VF-2JA? Yesss.. I liked the VF-2JA more than the VF-2SS when I first got introduced to Macross 2 and hope Bandai carries through to this model in the HMR line. But at same time, all these unlikely re-issues Bandai's been doing is just flag planting of various Macross series ever since WWM started, so am not gonna carry high hopes for it.

In this reissue could they have toned down the protruding canopy armor that used to stick out so abruptly? Either way very excited and love the stand.

It is long overdue for the VF-2JA to see the light of day as a variable toy. Bandai or Arcadia, I'm good either way.

Is this only going to be up on Bandai's website or can we expect other retailers to carry this? I imagine being Macross 2 it's going to be easier to acquire outside of Japan.

Only SDF TV series & DYRL are being road blocked by HG, Mac Zero, Plus & Frontier are available at shops like Big Bad Toy Store. Macross II should be no issue at all.

I’d imagine these won’t be hard to find in the U.S. and some other outside Japan countries. I’ve seen a few of the HMR toys at Hobbytown and they’re partnered with Bandai for the gbwc, and I don’t think hg can or has tried to block them since the ones I’ve are for Macross Zero and Macross 7, so I’m pretty sure the Macross 2 stuff would be fine.

Seems this isn’t very popular since it’s still sitting for preorder at hobby search, so it should be easy for folks to get.

Hlj has it at around $105 and hobbysearch has it for about $88, so there’s probably gonna be some variations on cost vs shipping. I’m sure other places will have other deals as well. Either way, not too bad for all that’s included in the box
