While I never post it on this forum, I absolutely love Lilo & Stitch. While this CGI version doesn't have that animation cell look, I hope this is just as good as the original movie animated movie.

Okay, could be fun.

But curious who will round out the cast.

Jack Black, Pedro Pascal and Awkwafina. They’re in everything

Yeah this looks pretty fun, I'm in. Crazy that this looks pretty fun and inspired, but Snow White looks really boring, soulless and just not very interesting at all.

Well, Stitch is an adorable yet punk-ass bastard.

To paraphrase Pulp Fiction, charm goes a long way.

Wonder if Tia Carrere (Nani’s original voice actor) will make a cameo?

Lilo and Stitch is, quite possibly, my favorite Disney movie, so I'm less inclined to dismiss it outright than a lot of their other recent output. However, I still don't get Disney's perverse need to do live action remakes of all their older animated movies... especially when half the time "live action" isn't even that, it's just "realistic" CGI animation.

Because they don’t have the money for writers, so they just make little tweaks to the original, copy print and hope it makes some cash

Oh they have money. They have money because the live action movies have consistently made them money.

Their live action movies mostly have made money, but their marvel stuff isn’t even breaking even lately. It kinda drags the whole company down. And not all of their live action stuff has been successful.

Based on the numbers on Wikipedia, for "Phase 5" we've got...

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - $388m budget, $476m BO

The Marvels - $374m budget, $206m BO

Deadpool and Wolverine - $200m budget, $1.3b BO

Captain America: Brave New World - $180m budget, $373m BO

...which is a 1:2.06 ratio. Granted, you remove the DaW outlier, that ratio drops precipitously to about 1:1.2, so... still better than breaking even, but I get your point, but that's still not enough of a liability to hold back what is assuredly a wildly (if inexplicably) popular run of LA movies. Apparently Lion King made $1.65 BILLION. I... I don't get it.

Unfortunately for them those numbers don’t include the marketing and such. Cap has been reported as losing quite a bit overall so far and same with Ant man. The only one of those listed that brought in cash was Deadpool.

None of those numbers, and Cap 4's budget is grossly underreported given the substantial reshoots and delays that some peg the total north of 300M, take into account the marketing budgets and differences in studio financial recoup between domestic (~50 cents on the dollar) and international (~35 cents on the dollar, in aggregate) markets... cinemas need to make money and governments take their cuts.  Rule of thumb for taking everything into account is to multiply the ACTUAL budget, not what the studios initially allocate in their production pitch, by 2.5... and this does not even take inflation* into account.

Assuming the numbers quoted are within the actual final cost, minus advertising, the numbers required for break even (zero profit during their theatrical runs) are:

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania - $388m budget = $970M to break even (tbe), $476m BO = $494M loss before recouping some back through tax breaks depending on where the majority of the filming is done.

The Marvels - $374m budget = $935M tbe , $206m BO = $729M loss, again before any claw-backs.

Deadpool and Wolverine - $200m budget = $500M tbe, $1.3b BO = $800M profit plus whatever tax incentives there may be... an unqualified success!

Captain America: Brave New World - $180m budget = $450 tbe, $373m BO = still $77M underwater and entirely dependent on the true budget numbers.

Of the 4 movies cited, only Deadpool made money and likely not enough to offset the total loss of the other 3 combined.

*Inflation also means there are far fewer butts in seats paying higher per-seat prices to achieve the BO numbers being reported as compared to the past.

I didn't look too much into the numbers, I'm assuming those are with marketing, but 🤷‍♂️.
