Not to be confused with Superman: Doomsday.

On the one hand, I'm really curious to see RDJ's Dr. Doom. On the other hand, I'm kind of thinking WTH? I don't think making Dr. Doom a variant of Tony Stark is the right way to go, nor do I generally think casting the same actor as two different characters in the same continuity is a great idea, either. 

I suppose this means I can't accuse Marvel Studios anymore of being racist for casting Michelle Yeoh and Gemma Chan in two separate roles each and hoping we wouldn't notice...

That... is an interesting choice.

I guess so long as he leaves the mask on, it won't really matter?  But I can't help think they're trying to pull more multiverse shenanigans and play with the nature vs nurture angle. 

I'm also not deep enough into Marvel history to know whether those two characters may have ever met or interacted in some way, but after their first foray into using characters from that franchise, I'm not sure I trust them to try again.

Too late,  I lost interest in the MCU after Endgame, I only continued for No Way Home, Deadpool & Wolverine and the upcoming Thunderbolt for Florence Pugh.

In the old days when a franchise was losing steam you'd put it to rest for 3 to 5 years then return with a new cast and retold the same stories in a new way.

Now you force actors work until they are 90.

From my understanding is they're still sticking with the Multiverse BS that's been going on since Spiderman. Some sources are saying he's still playing Tony Stark but he's a variant who becomes Dr. Doom versus being Victor Von Doom. Or they're gonna pull that stunt where actors become look-a-likes like Brandon Routh being both The Atom in the arrow-verse series and then Superman, like Johnny Blaze and Cap'n America. 

Though honestly, even I'm on burn out with marvel movies, it was fun seeing Deadpool & Wolverine, probably because it was so much less about the MCU you could get away from.

I kinda think those sources are just running on guessing for this one. Although they may end up guessing right, we’ll have to wait and see how things really turn out.

my early guess is that he’s not actually Tony or a variant since that seems like it’s giving away the twist way too early on. Like they didn’t really give any info but the twist if that were the case. I kinda think it may be something more simple as he actually will be Victor, but messed up enough in the face that we don’t associate him with Tony even though it’s the same actor, but that’s just a very early guess

They could *do a Collin Farrel to Pengiun make over... that's the only logical move here.

Dr Doom in a lot of the comic appearances where they actually showed him, he was pretty messed up looking, but it’s all just early guessing for now

Part of me would have wanted RDJ to return as an alternate universe Iron Man and have someone else play Doctor Doom.  Worked for Wolverine.  Speaking of which I'm looking forward to the X-Men the most.  I'm guessing some more cast members will be added but not everyone and the cast for Secret Wars will be even more.  Add Hugh Jackman for sure.

Hence, glorified cameo. Shows up, 1 or 2 lines, then gone from the rest of the film. Or she'll show up in the next one. Same for everyone else I mentioned. May or may not show up, have a quick 1-2 lines of dialogue-scene, then poof, gone for the rest of the movie. Or they'll show up in the next one.

Oh, so we're really doing Channing Tatum as Gambit huh? I gave up on Marvel after T:L&T, BP2, AM:Q, were the tri-fecta of "we don't even have to try anymore!" style of writing but I've had enough recovery time to give GoG3 a chance and that was fun so sure, I'll watch this one (on Disney+).

Honestly, the cast is a bit over the top. Some of this kinda thing works ok in a comedy like Deadpool, but it’s gonna be hard to take it seriously here. The last Spider Man movie kinda falls apart with repeat watching and I don’t think this will have any staying power with all the multiverse stuff it’ll need to bring all these characters together. It’s gonna have some cool, ohh there’s so and so moments, but then that’s gonna die the second watch of the film.

No way this movie is going to make any money. Cast is too hugh and Cgi cost will be through the roof. They'll have to charge more to see it and even then it will require everyone to see it at least 2 times.

Current trend is too throw hundreds of millions of dollars on the screen. Resulting in any movie not making a billion as a failure.

Kinda sad I'm not the only one underwhelmed by this.

Hollywood should move on to other properties and there many out there that they already bought the rights to. Tops for me in no special order would be:

1. Warhammer 40K

2. Attack on Titan

3. AKIRA

4. Deus Ex

5. The Adventures of the Galaxy Rangers

The grapevine is reporting there are still names to be announced. The reason they were not announced is that they are not locked in due to availability/schedules or the stories for some of those characters will be occurring concurrently so their appearance in this film will not make sense. The studio is prepared to move forward without them, completely, should those actors' schedules not align with the filming schedule. If they're completely not available, then they are hoping their schedules allow them to come back for the next movie. They are still hoping to squeeze in filming something (i.e. the glorified cameo) for this movie between schedules, but as of now, TBD.

I still don’t understand how / why she lost her accent between Age of Ultron and Civil War.
