These look look like more fun to transform than deformed or Chibi-type stuff. It's the Lucky Cat Jetwing that I really expected to vary from accuracy more. True...SD/Chibi stuff are meant to look as they do all along....it's a niche... This garbage was designed, I would imagine, to "look cool"....but they come off as the worst of fanfic designs at best...but I guess even garbage can be a niche.... This company took a chance with these designs knowing there would be some buyers that would be oddly attracted to them....for that they do deserve some credit.....they will corner the market on trash designed VF-1s!.... Radioguy
I'm waiting until I have one of these in-hand, but they look like they'd be fun to transform if there's enough die-cast, and quality plastic. From a toy perspective alone, these might scratch that Chunky Monkey itch that DX/Arcadia, etc. can't for being too screen-accurate.
jvmacross
Bandai should satisfy the "Chunky Monkey" itch by re-releasing the real Chunky Monkey in some DYRL editions for the film's 40th anniversary...a reissue of the VE-1 and/or VT-1 would be an insta-buy for me...including using the same boxart as the original releases! The tiny little knee joints in battroid are annoying to look at, but the fighter looks stupid. It’s mostly due to the intakes being so far out from the body, but overall it looks like a cool jet on top glued to a bunch of junk underneath that just doesn’t belong. It’s crap design from a company that doesn’t seem to understand design
Radioguy
I'm wondering if they can handle play like the Chunkys. These look like they may be able to take a tantrum or two.

Shawn
One of the things I enjoy searching for on the toys with tampo are how they warnings are interpreted by the manufacturer Such as 'Keep CleaN" instead of "Clear" I can't quite get a clear show of the markings on the back of the legs yet
Spark-O-Matic
Will be kinda ironic if they yellow and have that stamped on them.
Radioguy
I told you they are toys. I'm sure you'll find they printed "BRUSH YOUR TEETH" under the canopy as well.

Either that or posed next to a zentraedi with a tissue wiping it down.
twich
So has there been any indication as to when and how this will be released? We were surprised by the MOSHOW toys cyclone, let’s hope this is equally as affordable and well put together. Twich

Twich No timeline given to release yet, but folks could already PO with early bird 25% discount when this was shown at AGK 2024. Retail is at HKD1250, around USD160 smack in TZ territory. Graham
I'm actually kinda digging the look of the Battroid mode as an alternate universe take on the VF-1 design. The VF-1S Battroid and GBP Armor VF-1J look pretty damn good in my opinion. But yeah, fighter mode really sucks. I think I'd be up for getting 1 each of these and just keeping them in Battroid mode. A unique and refreshing take on the venerable VF-1, looking forward to this and appreciate that Unix Square trying to do something different. Battroid mode looks like it is going to destroy every other transforming Valkyrie toy out there in the articulation department. Even fighter mode is fine to me, gives off that fantastical space jet vibe from classic side scrolling shooter games.

Chronocidal
I'm happy for the folks who want this kind of thing, but I'm satisfied to sit back and watch... whatever this is. Like.. what the actual flying mc-frak is happening with the legs? Edit: Side note because I just noticed, but I wonder how far off those pics are from the "final" version, since I'm curious what they expect you to do with all those missiles if there aren't any hardpoints for them... and really just weird that they just decided to provide a full set of TV missiles.. then mismatched pairs of the DYRL boxes and reaction missiles. Tking22
I like that there are more companies making high-end, transformable VF-1, but yeah, not for me, especially with those proportions, that 1J is Judge Judy thicc.
Shawn
I get that the inside very convex leg panels pops/slides in to make room for the arms in fighter mode yet in the official promo pic, one leg panel is seemingly fully deployed (picture left), while the other is pushed in(picture right) Or am I totally misunderstanding what I am seeing? This is sort of like my 'look for the backwards missiles' on the other toy, for this one I've always been looking at the leg panels

Chronocidal
I'm kind of getting the impression that whoever posed the toy for the promos didn't actually know how to transform it properly? The legs look.. I mean, frankly, they look like they're kitbashed from another toy entirely, and it just doesn't look like they're collapsed properly? The thighs look like they're made from panels that can shift and move independently of each other.. or maybe that's just sloppy assembly? My brain is frying itself trying to understand the legs, because it looks like they tried to give the thing quadruple-jointed knees. It looks like each one has at least two ratchets, a twist, and slide, plus whatever that weird pinned joint on the back of the knee does... but in all of that mechanical shenanigans, it looks like they don't actually slide to collapse the knee at all? It looks like the knee is entirely exposed when "collapsed," and then pulls out even further from that point. And I still have no idea what that funky mid-intake joint is supposed to do. On the plus side, it does look like they actually painted the landing gear white. Edited Wednesday at 03:40 PM by Chronocidal

I wasn’t interested in buying one, but I figured maybe $60 tops. I don’t know why it’s another hundred or so on top of that. This really is the ugliest Valkyrie toy I’ve seen in a while. I absolutely hate the fighter mode. It’s stupidly clunky. And the other modes needed some redesign. I do think that’s an interesting gimmick on the inside of the lower legs being collapsible, but it doesn’t seem to help the fighter mode at all
