Big s Posted July 10 Posted July 10 It’s been a day of out of place crappy songs on soundtracks. First this one and then the one at the end of today’s episode of the acolyte Quote
MKT Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Denzel Washington's usually great in any role he's in. But here he somehow looks out of place.. Quote
electric indigo Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Looks gorgeous, but throwing everything into the blender is not how you make a good trailer. Quote
Duke Togo Posted July 10 Posted July 10 Hell of a cast. Really looking forward to this. And I really hope it has a good script. Quote
TangledThorns Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Ridley Scott must be feeling really confident about Gladiator 2. We shall see... Ridley Scott Planning a ‘Gladiator 3’: “There’s Already an Idea” https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/movies/movie-news/gladiator-iii-ridley-scott-1236008160/ Quote
Duke Togo Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Ridley basically spoils the ending of the second movie here, but they just must have some crazy faith in this movie to already be talking about making a third. https://variety.com/2024/film/news/ridley-scott-gladiator-3-ideas-development-1236151985/ Quote
Seto Kaiba Posted September 22 Posted September 22 Eh... maybe he's that confident (or overconfident) in Gladiator II. Maybe he's trying to pressure the studio into greenlighting Gladiator III based on hype alone before Gladiator II ever hits theaters. Maybe he's just George R.R. Martin-ing so he can secure some appearance fees to talk about what he'd like to do. Maybe he's just feeling insecure because Fede Alvarez stole his thunder and probably his franchise by making a better Alien movie than his last two attempts. Quote

Dynaman Posted September 22 Posted September 22 (edited) "Already An Idea" is a long long long long long... way away from a third movie being reality. That is not even a napkin plot sketch. Edited September 22 by Dynaman Quote

I didn’t know there was hype for Gladiator 2. I’ve seen the preview, but doesn’t seem like a lot of talk good or bad either way going on. Maybe it’s a bit early for that. Quote

The studio has already seen a rough cut of the film, if not the finished product. They're not going to make a decision based solely on hype. Quote
Knight26 Posted September 23 Posted September 23 Um yeah, super huge reveal and really throwing any historical accuracy out the window. Quote
TangledThorns Posted November 11 Posted November 11 Sounds like the sequel is good, not Oscar worthy like the first, but still good. I'll go see it and hope to be entertained, lol. https://www.ign.com/articles/gladiator-ii-review-paul-mescal-pedro-pascal-denzel-washington-ridley-scott Quote
Duke Togo Posted November 22 Posted November 22 I feel so let down by this movie. It should not have been made. This isn't as bad as I felt after I saw The Phantom Menace, but I'm actually kinda angry about it. Quote

I was planning on seeing Gladiator 2 and may still do since I'm off next week. Whatever, I got time to kill. lol. Quote
Duke Togo Posted November 22 Posted November 22 What baffles me is that while it has decent, but not great reviews, it has a really good audience score. Quote

kajnrig Posted November 25 Posted November 25 I saw it just now. Thought it was perfectly fine. CGI was very obvious at times. Ending I feel is too optimistic and some other story beats were too clean given the rest of the movie. It was never going to live up to the first, but still, all that said, it comported itself well. What was so bad about the movie as to be angering? Quote

F18LEGIOSS2 Posted December 6 Posted December 6 Spoiler The second movie feels like e character blending machine. Some characters deserve more screentime before they are killed. It is not easy to make a sequel as good as Gladiator 1. It was already perfect Quote
