Stampeed Valkyrie
Awesome news for those going to AX this year. I was able to get some autographs from him his last AX visit a few years back.
Jasonc
That's cool and all, but honestly, if he has a panel, that'd be the only thing I'd be interested in seeing there. Aside from that, maybe getting an autograph would be cool on a poster, but meh. I already have a couple.
Justin
I think the last time I went to Anime Expo was when he last attended in 2016. I may have to attend again.
Dinosaur
Anyone know when the times and dates for his autograph sessions will be posted? The site has not posted anything about when his panel is or what time/dates he will be doing autographs. :C
Justin
FYI, autographs are difficult at Anime Expo. You have to line up really early in the morning on the day of the signing to get autograph tickets. Last time he was here, I lined up at 5am for tickets to be dispersed at 9am and I was able to get a ticket but I think it's even harder nowadays. I was one of the last people to get a ticket last time he was here in 2016. Hopefully they do better then last year on Autograph line management. There were people who lined up days prior to the con for certain guests. AX never let that happen in all the years prior, except for last year. If you really want an autograph 2 or 3 AM for some guests.
Dinosaur
So wait, you guys had to wait in line for a ticket for an autograph. Then ANOTHER line to get the autograph? Why can't we just buy the ticket online? And how much do these tickets usually go for? Edited May 22 by Dinosaur

In my 10 years of AX Standby tickets are utterly useless. Kawamori did offer to sign things for $$ after the main line went through. I think it was $50,

Do you trust the new studio in charge of the new series? I sure hope they know what they're doing and don't mess it up.

My only concern, and maybe I'm a minority here, is that they may take too much of the love story and music out of it. Yeah, I know many criticize it, and to some degree, I can agree with it, but it is what made it different than any other mecha show. If Sunrise can find a way to dial it back a little, and create a balance that say, Frontier had (give or take a little), I think it'll be a good thing. For all we know, Kawamorisan may also be advising as the series comes with a lot of lore, so I can easily see him doing a lot of that. A new series may be great and may have the right formula for attracting new and older fans, but if the story is not connecting to the timeline and all the preceding series in lore, it can throw a giant wrench in that. I know this is not that conversation here though. It is strange that he went to AX, and while I'm sure getting autographs from him was great, I haven't heard much except for that scooter thing.
