betocc Posted September 27 Posted September 27 FYI prices on YAJ are around 30,000 yen now https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/closedsearch/closedsearch?auccat=&tab_ex=commerce&ei=utf-8&aq=-1&oq=&sc_i=&exflg=&p=DX+VF-1J&x=0&y=0 Quote
rsvictor1976 Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I know there are sites like Buyee that lets you buy from Yahoo Auction Japan but I've never used them before. How much does it cost in fees and shipping usually for something like a DX Chogokin Valkyrie to ship to California? Quote

The fees were 800 yen, and the shipping cost to California was 5,880 yen via FexEx. In my case, shipping took 3 days from label created to delivery. Overall, was very happy with the Buyee experience. Buyee is the way to go....plus they have been issuing a lot of coupons recently that will help offset the cost of proxy fees and int'l shipping...it's pretty safe to use and worse, extremely easy to use if you're looking for an excuse not to spend more money.... Shawn Posted September 27 Posted September 27 I really wish Bandai should have through this through a bit more They COULD have done something really cool, like each valk would randomly have different pieces cast in the difference materials, so if you collected enough of them you could swap them all out and have an all-chrome vf-1 for example and be the envy of all your Macross buddies Then people would want to buy multiples, and we'd be saying 'will trade one clear chest piece for the matte black' 😛 Or like the lottery one could come all-chrome, then you'd sell if for a lot because it was rare, but then someone would question you and say you assembled it from other ones haha Quote

That's a great idea. 💡 Quote

Sounds cool! Quote
Froy Posted September 29 Posted September 29 I actually picked up this one from the post office Saturday last weekend nad just had chance to put it out of the box today. From Mandarake, no Tamashii shipping box. This would've been my most expensive Macross item to date. MXN to JPY and USD have been terrible the past month. Luckily it came free of import taxes. Now, if I just could get a Max VF-1A at a decent price. Quote
sh9000 Posted October 11 Posted October 11 @Froy I hope you got that DX VF-1A TV Max from Mandarake that I posted the link for the other day. Checked out the VF-1J 50th Anniversary for a little bit. The materials that are used are good and it's very nice in person. The parts that look like chrome are not chrome. No gloves were needed in handling the Valkyrie at all. If a VF-1S was released in the same style I'd buy it. Quote
HKBEN Posted October 24 Posted October 24 It seemed that Bandai and most toy companies are running out of ideas. This silver metal finish cannot take my money. They should consider to add more details into the DX line. I was amazed Bandai from the 70s upgrade the plastic model to PG level as today, very impressive to see such improvements. Just my 2 cents. rsvictor1976 Posted October 24 Posted October 24 I wonder why Bandai has never done a weathered version? Their competitors have already released one so why can't they? Quote
Froy Posted October 26 Posted October 26 (edited) @sh9000 sadly no plans for getting Macross toys at that price range for the reminder of the year, I really wanted that 50th anniversary valk. Still I will continue to bring in some more hi metals. Still need to get a VF-19 Edited October 26 by Froy Quote
grogall Posted October 27 Posted October 27 @jenius Thanks for the new review! Still hoping that you cover some of the other missing as well! But I know they take time... But always looking forward for them, Thanks! Quote
Radioguy Posted October 28 Posted October 28 @jenius Would love to see your Fugu Jetfire review too. Quote
